So..as i've mentioned before I'm currently reading Memories and one of the huge reasons (among others) that i ran to the bookstore and purchased it right after Gardens was the story between Paran and Tattersail/Silverfox. I alas am not to happy with the turn in their relationship. I mean the Malazan books are great (I've only read two, well one and a half) but as a fan of Sci-fi and fantasy, you always must turn, or add some semblence of love or the human affection thereof. I mean Whiskeyjack's love to Korlat is one but to me not as deep as Paran's and Tattersail/Silverfox's. So my question is this...you don't have to spoil it for me but do tell me do they ever get back together??
maybe my fascination with fantasy and sci fi is that I dream of some future where theres magic and Homosexuals are the ruling race...ha. Adrian Summers aka..Playdoe

This thread should be in the MoI forum. This forum is for introductions and spoilers of any kind are a no-go. I've reported it, so it might be relocated to a different forum sometime soonish.

Glad you like the series so much so far, and welcome to the board!

MODGOD NOTICE OF THREAD MOVED - THANK YOU FOR THE REPORT.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

to your question - no. silverfox is not tattersail, and much as it might make you happy to see ganoes and her get together, who they are won't allow them to be together. you'll see.

Also, their love was never that deep to begin with. They had a one-night stand and then Tattersails went off and died. If I remember correctly, Paran does some musing on this and comes to pretty much the same conclusion. Silverfox is not Tattersail and what they shared was more desire than love.

just to throw in a wildly optimistic take on it, i'll say: not yet! maybe in "Assail."

Thanks for the answers guys, and my apologies for not picking the right "forum". New so gotta learn to weave my way around. well i have my fingers crossed. BTW almost done with Memories...I've read it after Gardens. Problem is Deadhouse is on it's way and I'm itching to read more. I started Night of Knives but I know I'll be finished with that in less than a day (small book). Anything I can start unitl Deahouse gets here thats safe to read and won't spoil anything?? I've got House of Chains,Bonehunters,Midnight Tides,Toll of the Hounds, and Reaper's Gate ( all of these I got belive it or not brand new for Birthday!!) or should I just wait....I CANT DAMMIT

Midnight Tides is pretty much relatively safe. I'd say it works better when reading it as the fifth book, but since it takes place before GotM, it's not like any events will be spoiled. you'll probably just miss a heck of a lot (but then again, i read it in order & realized on a reread i'd missed lots, so ....)

personally i think you should wait for deadhouse gates. midnight tides, while not immediately relatable to the previous novels, just wouldn't be the same if you hadn't read DG and HoC before it.

Yah, all the talk about how the first five novels are basically stand-alone is -- not nonsense -- but misleading. Read the books in order.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

obviously sinisdar & worrywort are right, but i figure since you'll be rereading them all at some point anyway, if you're desperate to continue in a spoiler free way RIGHT NOW ....
