Don't feel bad, I have the same feeling. This game makes you feel that way. Read the various threads on the MAFIA forum by Tapper & others that will lay out some of the rules, terms that are used etc.

Maybe read one of the games. It helped me to understand this game originated as a game for a group in face-to-face interaction that has altered into a forum game. I'll let one of the old hands explain it to you, because I'm new myself (only 2 games) but I love it, and am ready to play again as soon as one is finished.

I'll probably swing another game. I look to have a slow week coming up and with my cold/flu/general ick feeling mostly behind me I might actualy avoid doing anything bonehead and rash. Though I wouldn't count on it.

I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
