I know that I'm outing which faction I'm not in but Amp died as team Jen. Now by my fever induced reasoning with Team Kra winning the latest hand then Merrid would stay in team Kra. Amp's reveal makes sense for the members of the other two factions to vote for Merrid as team Kra is in the lead (currently). As I don't have any take as to the FM then at this point it makes sense at eliminating rival faction members.

So you're either J or Z right? if you're J, well ... that would be a helluva catch. There are pretty much only the higher ups left in Jernau. You know what, I'm gonna go for it. I have nothing to lose really (except my remaining credits, and (if I am making a huge mistake) perhaps my leader). Dropping the first (one of the first?) vote(s) of the day would seem reckless for a faction leader, however, J has no other option (though maybe being the first to vote wouldn't be the best idea). I really do not feel like reading much more today (damn canadian economics were so dull my eyes were bleeding) and so I'll probably just watch tv and go to bed. So here's my vote for the night.

Interesting logic. I mean, depending on the outcome of the hand, either Merrid is likely to be traded off somewhere else, or Team K will get larger by two more lives. If the latter, they'll have a solid majority. If the former, they're no more threat than Team J. So the only reason to pick Merrid is that we know, or at least very strongly suspect we know, which team Merrid is on. But we know Merrid is at the bottom of the list - better way to cripple to a faction is to take out someone in the middle-upper reaches.
Anyway, by highlighting your own not-membership of Team K, you've got...what, 6? Of the players present who might vote you for lulz. Which also means they nearly have a voting block. You've got the other team who doesn't care if it's you or Merrid, really, if they can't push Merrid. So one can only assume that you're either trying to highlight the factions, or that you're too tired to have a plan and went for the nearest target.
The problem with this game, as I see it (and it's part of the appeal, too, I guess) is that at least one player from each team is going to get shuffled every other hand of cards. Which means they've got no fixed allegiance. Now, they might not be able or willing to play directly against their team, but...to abstain from throwing their full weight behind a faction? After all, if the faction isn't going to win that day, what's the point in being picky? Which means those players need to look at the long view if they're concerned about winning.
Anyway, I need to get going, so I'll leave you with a vote.

For either trying to highlight factions, or not really thinking his vote through.
i dont know how far the food chain i am, though i think im either 4th or 5th, so maybe im could get traded soon, but that doesnt mean i should just ignore the other factions
if Amp was telling the truth, and merrid was next to go on team k, with the last hand he is safe from trading now hes in the middle of the pack with two players below him.
kalse here is showing he is on team K with merrid, possibly one lower than merrid (so he is one of the traded players) or simply a team K who believes in amps reveal and is just trying ot protect his faction
im also pretty sure with the betting that GL is on team K, but he is either lowest or 2nd lowest and hes 50:50 to be traded again if team K loses this hand
if team k wins this hand and gets another 2 players then they will be surging intot the leed players wise which isnt good, so im thinking its time to curb there numbers
so for me its either GL, merrid or kalse
Gl is too low, and only worth thinking about if K wins this round
Merrid is in the middle of the pack, probably a live
Kalse is either the tradee from team J or a bit higher up. if we can get this lynch over with before this hand finishes i would say kalse is the better target. just in case on the off chance he is higher up. but if the lynch fails before the hand is over and team K loses, we risk lynching someone on our faction.
Merrid has one more vote than kalse though, making it slightly easier to get the lynch on him, and at least im sure he wont get traded this hand
im on for a while longer, if we have the numbers to push through a kalse lynch id go for it, if not then go for merrid
what does everyone think?
and yes i realise ive basicly outed what faction im in

I'm busy for the next hour or so, but I will be back to give my thoughts on all this. A lot of good analysis going on, I'm glad we're getting into the meat of the faction game. Up until now everything has been very speculative.
However I'm going to place my vote now to avoid any mistakes.

My reason is so blatantly obvious that only someone that is on team K would question my reasoning. And not very good at that. With team K in the running to win another hand it is in everyone elses best intrest to trim some of K's ranks even if it is a low ranking member. Though from the amount of credits you bet you might be a higher ranked member of that faction.

I bet I missed something, so add it if you see it. I mostly wanted to look through this because there are a lot of powerful hands on that list; the game could easily swing either way with a flop like that. No possible straights or flushes, though. I think it also explains Captain Z's fold, because if he didn't have one of the hands high up on that list, odds are one of the other two did. Now, it's true that by forfeiting his Second, he exposes himself to the possibility of a reveal, but at the same time, if he is able to wager his own life and win the next hand (all in, perhaps?), he could win the Second back (if the Second decides to stay quiet and hope his Captain wins). So at least he might get another chance rather than probably losing it all on this hand.
I'm about to eat...but I will be back in an hour or so.

You misunderstand my objection. If team K is, as numbers would suggest, 6 members large at present, then reducing their number by one doesn't help anyone if they win TWO lives this hand. They will have a voting block regardless. If they do not win the hand, then they are no longer a large threat. Except that the balance will remain with Jernau, whereas if they lose a player to lynch, one to trade, and Jernau gains two, Jernau is in the same position as Team K is now. So what have you achieved? Nothing.
Hence why your logic is, imo, flawed.
@Rashan - would have thought if it was, someone would have followed said accusation with a vote. Though perhaps lack of likelihood of a lynch changes that.

I won't lie, i'm wiped after 5 hours at work, and I will in all likelihood crawl to bed to pass out soon. So I won't be trawling through posts to find what made me think of Ruse right now. maybe tomorrow.
the lynching situation is interesting. i've already said that Merrid is probably life 2, and depending on the hand, he cn go back to being the Cracklin's cannon fodder. not worth a vote atm.
otoh, Korabas is probably the Jelunga cannon fodder making waves. though why make waves if you could be traded too? unless he's one of the captains.... hmmm.....

if he was on team K at the bottom of the chain, then after the last hand he now has 2 people below him.

Where is everyone? I got the ball rolling for some major waves and I fully expected both lynch trains to be farther along than they are. With Kraiklyn raising it looks like he has the best hand and will most likely win another life and cash in on team Z's second. With a lynch on Merrid at least we will keep the teams fairly evenly balanced with team Z still alive to steal a few lives to make things interesting.
I'll check back in after a few hours. Grow some balls people and step up and support your faction.
Oh and Thanks Tellan. Just wish we gave you a bit more to do
Edit. Added last line.
