I think a large part of it was your Day 1 vote where it appeared to some people that you were steering the vote away from Tiam (who was Team Z).

If I recall correctly, wasn't that only when Tiam had 1 or 2 votes, though? Putting a vote on someone when no one has more than 2 votes isn't really steering away, especially on day 1 \:)

@ korb i agree, but if were lucky and choose the right low poster then theres a chance we will lynch there preped alt force them to stay where they are giving us more information about there timezones and playstyles

So are you saying we should target someone that is in the upper half of the posting pool? That sounds like just picking someone at random again. Not sure that would be very helpful at this stage of the game.

Also, I'm not familar with the FM mechanic, but could the FM prepare multiple targets before they start jumping bodies? That would be easier for FM to survive longer as they would basically just need to survive one day of posting in someone elses alt and then jump the very next day. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Yes, if I remember right, it was immediately after the very first vote had been cast (it was for Tiam, Korabas said he chose "randomly"). It was this proximity to the previous vote that seemed suspicious. Ah, here's the quote:

Okay as we are playing a game of chance I will let chance determine my vote. Fortune favors the bold. With four straight flips of the coin each hitting tails (no not dragon tails).

Vote Tiamatha

Bet 5 credits.

I agree with the sentiment, though I'd like to avoid a crazy train.

vote Ampelas

Bet 5 credits

This is interesting and it looks like someone is steering away from Tiamatha before the mob can descend. Tiam aint my leader so.....

vote Tiamatha

bet 5 credits

I agree that the case for GL is weak, but there isn't much else to go on for Team Z. However, if Omtose's analysis is correct, then even if GL was on Team Z to start he's just been traded away (and Team Z should be left with only the Second and Captain).

Sorry guys work has been crazy busy for me, hopefully I will be able to get on more in a couple of house.

Just to clarify in previous FM games the FM could only prep one person at a time. Which makes sense if you think about it. A lynch train doesn't offer up any clues as to a FM's identity. They don't care who is lynched as long as it isn't them. In this game the FM must try to get into a captain in order to win (The game with grief he didn't need to transfer to win but he could if he needed to). The only way to find a FM other then by random chance is after he has transferred into another body.

Also why do you care what cards are in the flop GL? The only people who should care are the captains. The rest of us can't control which faction we will end up in.

Oh that's right. I thought I was clear when I said that any trains that take shape this game would be ran with regardless of proof (especially relevant to day 1). I can see where this understanding comes from, though in all honesty it was just a shot in the dark seeing as there was so little involvement on day 1 (I am guilty of this).

Sorry HP, I don't understand. Did I express interest in the flop? Soo confused.

Well I'm off to trudge through several books of canadian economic history. I can't imagine spending the day doing anything else! (end sarcasm). I'll read up on the goings on tonight when I get back.

All captains bet 25 credits

king spades

seven hearts

Well that's depressing...

Sorry GL that was my mistake, it was Barghast who expressed disgust with the flop. My brain is only functioning at 5 % right now unlike the normal 7%. :)

I was wondering how Z even had 25 credits to start betting with. What's interesting here is that Team Z is going to lose another faction member (the Second) no matter what, which means... only Captain Z is left.

Which is basically like Suicide because the Second, on a new team.. can basically out the captain and destroy team Z for good...of course he is then advertising who he is and what team he is on. Interesting fold by Mr. Z.

I hate how this great game has grown stagnant because people are afraid to vote and reveal what side they are on.

The only thing in the past 3 pages that have really stood out for me is on the Ampleas train Liosan didn't put the amount of his bet with his vote. So he wanted to make his bet amount secret. This seems to me like a higher-up betting a large amount but not wanting us to know about it... otherwise, why hide your bet? Right now I am waffling between Liosan and Kalse. I will be placing a bet here in the next 4-5 hours as I won't be on much tomorrow. Hoping something develops or the hand is finished so we get some more info. I am working atm but I will be checking the thread frequently for the next few hours.

Actually... now that you say this, the only real way that Z has the credits is from his faction second. We didn't see anyone on the Ampleas train bet more than 10. If I was a betting man... which I will be here in a few hours, I would say that Liosan is the Team Z second.

I know that I'm outing which faction I'm not in but Amp died as team Jen. Now by my fever induced reasoning with Team Kra winning the latest hand then Merrid would stay in team Kra. Amp's reveal makes sense for the members of the other two factions to vote for Merrid as team Kra is in the lead (currently). As I don't have any take as to the FM then at this point it makes sense at eliminating rival faction members.

vote merrid

Interesting logic. I mean, depending on the outcome of the hand, either Merrid is likely to be traded off somewhere else, or Team K will get larger by two more lives. If the latter, they'll have a solid majority. If the former, they're no more threat than Team J. So the only reason to pick Merrid is that we know, or at least very strongly suspect we know, which team Merrid is on. But we know Merrid is at the bottom of the list - better way to cripple to a faction is to take out someone in the middle-upper reaches.

Anyway, by highlighting your own not-membership of Team K, you've got...what, 6? Of the players present who might vote you for lulz. Which also means they nearly have a voting block. You've got the other team who doesn't care if it's you or Merrid, really, if they can't push Merrid. So one can only assume that you're either trying to highlight the factions, or that you're too tired to have a plan and went for the nearest target. :)

The problem with this game, as I see it (and it's part of the appeal, too, I guess) is that at least one player from each team is going to get shuffled every other hand of cards. Which means they've got no fixed allegiance. Now, they might not be able or willing to play directly against their team, but...to abstain from throwing their full weight behind a faction? After all, if the faction isn't going to win that day, what's the point in being picky? Which means those players need to look at the long view if they're concerned about winning.

Anyway, I need to get going, so I'll leave you with a vote.

Vote Korabas

Bet 8

For either trying to highlight factions, or not really thinking his vote through.

although since no one else died, I'm assumng Cracklin kept his 2 recruits.
Merrid is still too small a fish to fry. findng his higher-ups would be more useful.

i'm ctually thinking someone in the ruse-Omtose post range is our FM. will need to re-read them before I decide which way to go though.
