just finished SW, and among the greatest wtfs are the following

why did Warran (aka ST, I think?) dump Leo and Kiska off at the First Shore?

What's the deal with that mega-giant thing that's walking around carrying a mountain or something?

Short answer is: Nobody knows!

Long answer is: I don't know and I don't know anybody who does know.

He is Shadowthrone, lord of shadows and misdirection and the like.

As for the giant... well first instincts say its Burn's hubby carrying her around. Or the Drift Avalii guy.

It is the Mother of all Convergences and ST is orchestrating all of it, and so put the characters there.

I am going to venture a guess.

My reading is that Kurald Liosan, Kurald Galain and Kurald Emurlahn are next to each other. Now KE is all torn up. One section is what ST rules (this is where the Shadow House/Azath is) and this is where Kiska and Leoman are.. Another section is in between KL and KG and this is where the Shake are (and this is where both end up going)
There is a Rent that has been created by Chaos. Maybe it is possible to jump from here to there throught the rent.

I have forgotten this section, but did ST actually put them there or did they end up getting sucked in.

There's the being "not to be awakened" that is mentioned in HoC by Andarist as living "under" Drift Avali'i to Cutter before the battle between the Edur and Andarist, Apsalar, Cutter, and Traveller and his marines.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Wasn't that a reference to the soul of Bloodeye or someone like that?
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I think Andarist and Scabandari's history would rule that possibility out.

Seeing also How Scabandari's soul was in a flint knife carried by Ulshun Pral in the Refugium, it would be difficult form it to be under Drift Avalii

Adept of Team Quick Ben

I greet you as guests and so will not crush the life from you and devour your soul with peals of laughter. No, instead, I will make tea-Gothos
