I hope that explains some? It is early in the day but getting 4 votes usually people then jump on the band wagon. No one wants to go first day, I mentioned earlier that I didn't like all the spam that silencer threw out and at the time it was between him and PB I was thinking about. PB because when his name was mentioned he jumped on the thread and then disappeared, he said he would read up and then post but hasn't done that either. No one else has even mentioned PB so Silencer seemd the better out of the two.

As I said, those players can easily withdraw their vote if they don't judge him lynch-worthy as these are joke/jealousy votes. There's 16 to 20 hours left in the day, I'm not pushing for a lynch right now - FFS, I haven't even voted him.

What makes him scummy is his jumping and squirming, voting Silencer with no reason other than him being my second named potential scum, and suggesting Ment because.... ment has more (joke) votes on him.

there is under 10 hours left in the day, as I mentioned earlier we should be looking to lynch someone. I then got called a spoil sport because they were loving the spam. It doesn't always have to run down to the wire to get a lynch, an hour to go and town needing 3 votes or something silly like that.

I would vote PB as my most suspicious but I never guess right on day one.

If it was yesterday I wouldn't have been arsed but this is count down imo. I don't want to be up there, but actually Silencer mentioned something about being town earlier when I called him out, and he didn't lay a vote on me either making me not know what to believe.

a little crazy sneaked in while i was reading bents goodbye, i didnt really know him but he was a good mafia player (as far as i can noobily tell) and he seemed a decent bloke, wish him all the best

even on day one, when theres never much to vote on, i wouldnt risk a lynch on a vote as frivilous as a bad pun ( admitidly i also hate the fact he has TCG and i dont but that its by the by )

Well, the only thing about PB is that he dropped in and didn't do what he said he would. All of the spam machines around here have been around plenty to play the game, but they haven't, opting to spam instead. What is the worse offense of the two?

@ Tattersail: this sums up my entire reasoning on joke votes being removed. 2 of the 3 people who voted you (Roldom and Shin) are around and can withdraw any time the number of joke votes would make you the sole lynch target.

because day one is the only day when people can vote off anyone for anything. say I have 4 votes on me and there is not much time left, there is not a good case around so everyone just goes and votes the guy with the most votes as he is the most likely to get lynched. With this even if they are "joke" votes, it becomes less of a joke when there is a lot of them on you. Do I make sense?

Personally I analyse things way too much, I think of who the best candidate would be for a scummy player, I try to take everything into consideration. PB was fishy as you pointed out because he said he would do something and he didn't and he is low posting to avoid notice? Maybe not but the low posters get do not usually get enough heat. Last game they did and we hit scum.

Ment's votes where about him being a symp which is less of a joke than "he has the crippled god let's lunch him".

Silencers are due to him high post spamming the thread. As a team town have to find the scum, there could be scummy posts about but now there are 21 pages to look through and try find them.

A thread like this can give scum good ways to hint or communicate with fellow scum or get lost in all the posts that are flying about.

People may be joking around and yeah its only day one but I at least like to try and find something suspicious on day one.

Yup. Hence my argument, and what roldom says, that he would remove if a joke vote would lead to someone getting lynched.

If he wanted to avoid notice he would have come back and made a non-committal post on all the spam.
Him not returning/ lying low is what gets him attention, so your entire base argument in this case is flawed.

There is no default style to play. If you really want to take last game as an example, then you should also remember that you were hot on Silencer's low posting ass and he was the finder that basically made the town win.

It is day one. Barring a real slip, luck or spotting people signing, all you have to go on is behaviour on day one. I don't like your behaviour since Shin voted for you, I don't like Silencer's behaviour so far.

but you only have my reactions to silly votes, silencers play and a shit load of spam? you read way too much into my posts, but thats what a good mafia player does. Your right about the silencer part last game, although once revealed i backed away, the only reason I stayed on him was the night kill attempt on me on day one, i couldn't reveal so had to use some other way of getting at him.

He then makes one more spammy joke post and then disappears without another post for a while.

So, what struck me as incongruous was he takes an easily baited joke vote, changes it immediately, takes a brief accusation badly and then when the thread swung to something unrelated he 'gracefully' went <poof>.
