Am I the only one who is avoiding that TOR excerpt of TCG?

... and is subsequently filled with loathing for the people who get to discuss the delicious morsels of information of the first chapter?

I started to read it and then screamed and turned off my monitor before I could get any further. There are some forms of teasing that I find moderately enjoyable, and some, including tidbits of tCG, which I find absolutely tortuous.

It didn't even cross my mind not to read it...

Why would you not read it, out of curiosity? Waiting for the holistic experience of cracking the book and being totally fresh? I guess that makes sense... I'm terrified of spoilers right now, but an excerpt (as long as it's the first 10 pages rather than, say, the last 10) is totally fair game by my thinking.

I can;t get myself to read it either..
Knowing, S.E. it will probably drive me into crazy misleading paths :-)

If the excerpt was released, say, 3 days before the book, I would avoid it. But I knew there was no way I could resist for 3 weeks so I read it right away.
Awesome, awesome excerpt btw!

Delicious forbidden fruit
HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

I read the first page of it...then stopped and started my re-read of DoD to avoid it...but I am PRETTY sure I'll read the other pages when I am done with my re-read....LOL. It's just too tasty a morsel to avoid!

I just want to start fresh. Beginning with the dramatis personae and then getting right into it.
I usually read the prologues we get early, but they're sort of contained, and the story only starts afterwards. But with just 10 pages it be like starting a story and then finding out that the other 990 pages are missing.

Honestly I thought these 10 pages read like a prologue. But don't take my word for it.

I agree with EoDO. Even though it's the first chapter ( or part of it), it is much similar to the previous books' prologues

Been avoiding these too, so far. Mostly because I don't want to register at Tor. It's getting hard though, what with all the speculation based on these ten pages popping up..

Reading it would just make the wait even more difficult, so no. I haven't read anything from TCG yet (not even the tiny excerpts that have been floating around for months). Oddly enough, there's not even really a desire to read them. I want to start of TCG with absolutely no clue what's going to happen.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

I just printed it out.. and will read it on my way to work tomorrow.. If I read it now, there's no way I'll get my share of uni-work today.

Just tell yourself that it is the epilogue of DoD and not the first chapter of tCG...
You are seriously missing out on pure awesomeness...
