I feel you on all three of those series. Dark Tower was especially tough after King's accident when it looked for certain that it wouldn't be finished... especially since he left us hanging right after volume 4 which was - to my mind - the strongest in the series.
Anyway, OT. I'm dying to know if someone here won - I find it hard to believe not, but probability's never been my strong suit.
Ah Dark Tower, the first adult series I fell in love with at the ripe age of 14! That was exceptionally hard to wait for after the way Wastelands ended on the mono. Do you think your opinion of Wizard and Glass is perhaps biased because of that? That is definitely one of my favorites from the series, but I'm not sure if it's because we finally got an answer to "What happens next?!" or due to the story itself, which was a great nod to the stanza from the poem that he drew inspiration from for the whole series?
I shut my eyes and turned them on my heart. As a man calls for wine before he fights,I asked one draught of earlier, happier sights, Ere fitly I could hope to play my part.Think first, fight afterwards - the soldier's art: One taste of the old time sets all to rights.
Regardless, it's all OT to this thread, and I hope that at least someone from this site, preferably a veteran, gets one of the free books
