Going back up is real quick. You'll be out in a few minutes.

Yeah going back up makes use of the lift, it's much easier than getting down there. I still despise Lagtown even today, having completed the game a number of times, it really is a utter clusterfuck of an area! But you are nearly finished, and thus the light at the end of the laggy, king of all bullshit tunnels is that much nearer

Head for the tree at the opposite end to the boulder throwing giants. Find the tree with the root ramp you can walk up, and hit the wall to make it reveal a small cave. Hit the back of that one to see just how deep you can go.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Id advise against Travellers advice on going down the Great Hollow until you have completed Anor Londo as it is a nightmare going down and 10 times worse getting back up.
However if you do Anor Londo first you can use a teleport to make return trips easier.

Yeah maybe deal with Quelaag first! And don't agro the guys with the parasites on the way in unless you like surprises. And have a big hat.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Don't attack the lady in the wall who doesn't talk intelligibly to you. She's close to a bonfire and helpful later on.

Find the cave halfway up the big hill/nest that has the boulder guys standing around the base.

One fight with Quelaag will get you back in. When you beat her you can nip up the ladders and get out.
And into Sens Fortress.

Sen's Fortress is hilarious to me. The first time I went through it, it probably took me two days and a lot of cussing at the fair, yet vicious traps. Now, I think I could do it in fifteen minutes and think it's easy.

Yeah on my last play through I pretty much ran through to the top bonfire.
I want BK to beat Quelaag. Just so he can say he got further than Apt!

Very similar experiences with Sens to you Amph, took me forever first time through, now I speed run that place

DS 2 seems more disjointed, and is easier, generally, than 1, mainly due to more frequent bonfire placement - but it has it's moments, and introduces some new mechanics like dual wielding and the ability to respec. Although I haven't been back to it since I finished it, which may say something about it. Maybe I'll have another go at it after 3, especially if you start a play through!
DS3 is a really nice looking, updated sequel to 1. You won't be disappointed, its a nice blend of Souls and BB. Up to you, if you want to continue with the series (as certain items from 2 appear again in 3) you could get 2 and see what you think.

If you do get Dark Souls 2, do not join the covenant of champions.
I just realized many, many, many hours in that it made the enemies much tougher - almost like NG+ inside NG. I thought I was just rusty and needed to get better, so I did. Then proceeded as normal. Found out yesterday and had several belly laughs over this game dynamic. Love this series.

I've been playing through 2 since the release of 3. I had the Xbox one complete edition sitting on my shelf for nearly a year so finally decided it was time.
I started with a knight but got frustrated following the Ruin Sentinel fight due to issues with movement speed and strafing. Just stupidly slow in melee range even though my equipment weight was half of the max. Rerolled a sorcerer and have been absolutely destroying my enemies. It took about 10 hours to reach the same spot and since then I've been powering through it. Love the game, love the atmosphere, and looking forward to DS3 in the near future.

Hah, yes, wasn't there something you could burn that would essentially change the area of that bonfire only into a NG+ or higher game? So you could get items from Ng+ and beyond, but every time you returned it was way tougher. Pretty funny if anyone did it unintentially and didn't realise!
Best npc mechanic ever though - in DS 1 where if you want to buy pyromancy spells, you have to get infected by a parasite that lays eggs in your head. Which then hatch, turning you head into a swollen mess!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The item in DS2 was a bonfire Ascetic I believe, burning them upped the enemies in the area by one NG each time, it was a good way to earn a ridiculous amount if souls. I won't lie, I never got much past the Ruined Sentinels before I gave up on 2, it just never agreed with me, I still have the Scholar of the First Sin edition on PS4 sitting unplayed.
DS3 is definitely my favourite SoulsBorne game, the sequel that DS1 richly deserved and didn't really get with 2 in my opinion.

Hey, I beat Quelag. If that is that horrific spider woman down in the swamp shithole.
I got to Ornstein and Smaug up in Anor Londo. Then I decided that I'd rather cut myself, then play more Dark Souls.

Oh Pikachu and Snorlax, yeah they can be a bitch
First playthrough, the area can be unforgiving, it's one if the ramps in difficulty in the game I'd say.
