From House of Chains: (sorry dunn how to do the spoiler thingy, but im guessing everyone here's already read it.

Otataral, it seemed, did not go well with Moranth munitions, particularly burners and flamers

It's what happens to hot otataral. . . when you throw magic at it.

So yeah that settles it for me, hedge and fid + big sack of munitions, and the OD goess bye-bye :)

Maybe it is the munitions that don't go well with ottataral. So when the sappers get too close to the dragon all their munitions explode turning them into pink mist.

Perhaps... The Malazan's have already faced down a handful of dragons and shown they're more than capable at taking them down with minimal effort.

no need to spoiler House of Chains stuff in the Crippled God forum, we're all cool with unspoilered quotes from every book 'septing maybe Sonewielder.

anywho, just fyi, spoiler tags are done like so:
[*spoiler] ssh, top secret info that you want to be hidden! [*/spoiler]

just remove the asterisks, and away you go!

Spoiler

EDIT: imagine sharpers with otataral instead of iron.

I like the enthusiam here! Now, i'm gonna rain on the parade a bit and ask "Is the Otataral Dragon a bad thing?". The only reason we get that feeling may be since Killy, Sech, and unconscious Errastas wanna set her free (it is a she, if i remember right?), and that's completely understandable. Elder vs. Newer, with Otataral only affecting Newer seems to skew the side immeasurably to the Ancients. Still, the OD is Eleint, and those pesky dragons are notorious for doing as they damn well please, regardless of who set them free, pacts being made, bargains struck, etc. Anyways, should be fun! (And it would be sweet to see some fireworks via the sapper kings!) :)
