From what container doth thy beer flow?

Bottle, combining a touch more class with damage control properties. More of a knocked over bottle of beer can be salvaged than from a glass.

Totally depends on the beer for me. If I am at home usually just from the bottle, if at a pub,, usually from a pint glass or the bottle depending on the beer. Rarely/never any of the others.... we don't get beer in plastic bottles here as far as I am aware.

I pointedly refuse to drink beer out a can, its a filthy uncivilised way to opperate (yes I'm looking at you, you fucking philistine)
A glass bottle for your american crap that freely admit to drinking.
Pint glass (i have a proper branded one at both houses, like any good boozehound should) for guiness.
Illys fowl jokes bedamned, it didnt break the first 2 times, pint glass should not have been taken from me

Cans are just an overall less pleasant exbeerience. I don't care about the science (tho i do think cans warm up faster) - bottles just taste better and are more pleasant to quaff from.

From tap to galss mug is all good.
From tap right down your throat is an entirely different sort of exbeerience.

That too, tho that's not done for taste - that's done for self-destruction. even if it just tastes SO good when it hits your lips... [/hank the tank]

Out of a keg is superior to bottled or canned in every way (except accesibility of course). No contest.
I do not like frozen glasses. I dont want ice in my beer, it takes away from the flavor if your drinking a good beer....

Frosted is fine. Frozen is not.
And plastic cups... well, i accept the safety element at large public gatherings but they do nothing good for the beer that's usually already poor at such gatherings.
I do like a massive earthware mug tho'.

We often keep mugs in the freezer.
It doesn't freeze the beer...too much heat capacity for that. It's more of an aesthetic thing and gives extra coldness for the first 2-3 sips.

We're gonna have to disagree here sir.
When its cheap beer (Bud Light, etc.) then yes.
When its good beer in a frozen glass, all i taste is cold. Takes away the flavor.

All beers are served cold in Canada. Regardless of type...I don't think the populace would stand for anything else. All the beer at liquor stores (in a good portion of the country) is kept in giant walk-in coolers or grocery store coolers year-round too so you never have a warm one, even fresh out of the box.
And I've heard folks from UK whinge and cry about how you're not supposed to cool it down and blah blah...seems like a personal taste thing.
I cannot think of a single canadian bar that has ever served me a warm beer of any type intentionally.
Canadian norms aside though, I don't mind the darker microbrew ales at cellar or even room temperature. For the mass-produced types, refrigerator cold all the way.

I think he means when poured out of the original vessel.
Certainly, you can taste aluminium when drinking straight from the can when your lips/tongue are in contact with the metal.
When poured in a glass however, I challenge anyone to identify the aluminium vs. the bottle. I do not believe for a second there is a difference in flavour when consumed from a 3rd party beverage container.

Double POST
And funny enough, straight out of the bottle is the clear leader in this poll
I would have thought certainly the pint-glass/mug would have won out over all other forms hands-down, with bottle a distant second.
Not the first time I've been wrong...no sir.

Actually, some brands have different grades, the multipack tins being the shoddiest and kegged the best. I believe there are financial considerations involved

I know I've read before that aluminium cans are the superior storage media, having the least incidence of failure...kinda like how screw caps on wine way outperform cork or fake-corks in terms of reliability and incidence of failure.
Anybody know if that's true? Says nothing of taste...just whether it keeps.

I can see the logic behind such a claim, a sealed can has no outlet, a capped bottle could potentially be miss fitted easily and I would personally imagine more change of a leak from a bit of jarring

As long as my palate doesn't know the difference, can or bottle is fine. I'll still take my beer in a glass or mug though, since that's just a personal i-dont-know-why preference.
