Itkovian, absolutely my number 1. He has the strenght of character, the emotion, the compassion. And he's a darn good fighter! I just looove the man-
Other then him- sharing the 1st place- is Onos T'oolan the Fist Sword. He with his flint sword is soo cool!

Right i just want to say im a new member so it's not my fault is this all goes horribly wrong
My favourite character is Itkovian he's just so cool or Rake - he's just plain awesome.

Quite a few actually which is extremely rare for me in a fantasy series..hats off to Erikson for creating such lovely cuddely loveable characters

I myself have this infinite appreciation for Rake. I have expressed a number of times that this is due to his complexity, not his power. Even if he is the badest dude out there he is also multifaceted.
After Rake is Envy. Subtle manipulation. She is so wonderfully crafted, I loved reading about her.
And to tie up my top three Toc comes in. His mortallity. Not to mention I have a thing for Togg and Fanderay, a little leg up for our favorite one eyed man.
A little later on in the series Tehol would be in here with Bugg, but this isn't the place for those discussions.

Just from MOI, Quick Ben (though is also my favourite charatcer of all the Malazan books) and after him Anomander Rake.

#1 Has to be Lady Envy, with a close second to Kallor. slight nod for humour to Rath'Shadowthorne .Humour really makes these books such an amazing tale.

SE is really good with the humor. It is strange to find humor in the midst of so much carnage, but I love it. The books wouldn't be the same without it.

I Agree. The combination of war and humor makes for a varied and enjoyable read, and occasionally it is impossible to know if you are crying because you are happy or if you are crying because you are sad. (Well, at least it would be if I had ever cried while reading.)

My favorites are Quick Ben, Kruppe, Tool,
Quick Ben was just great and Kruppe was so funny and into everything and the Tool was just fantastic.
