Haha, this. I got called for playing like a noob in mafia 14, but not lynched outright for it, ever. These days, it's called "playing the noob card", and whether you are a n00b or not, it's bad, apparently. Asking what OMGUS means? Lynch. Don't know about WIFOM? (And when was the last time so real, proper WIFOM got thrown around? O.o) Lynch. Post poorly thought out strategies? Lynch.

We could at least give some leniency to new players. Or at least, not come down HARD on them, and just react reasonably. The weirdest thing about it, for me, is that it IS quite a nice way to get rid of people early. Guilty of it myself, think I pulled something like that in Warhammer (against Vengy, of all people...yes, he is on sabbatical because of this lynch) to get rid of folk and divert attention. XD

We need to get proper case-making back. Thing is, proper case making essentially consumes loads of time, even if just to line up all those quotes and add comments, and these days, we all seem to lack that. Going with the gut is what we do now... we always did, but we used to surround the gut with cases to appear as if we honestly spotted something. Nowadays, we don't bother much... look at the 'zomg he plays too smooth' thing we had running for three days in last game :s

Well, it doesn't help that I've been scum/faction'd for like the past four games. I don't do proper cases when I'm scum. I kinda did against Mockra in Mistborn, but that was only once Vengy gave me shit to work from, after my baseless speculation had done most of the work.

Quote-cases don't take long to make, for me, though. They take ages to find something to start from, and they require quite a bit of upkeep as the players argue in their or other's defense (another thing which you can't really do in faction games), which is a large deterrent to people with little time, unless the case is likely to be picked up by someone else (which can also be detrimental to the original case-maker). And, once again, not something you want to do as scum/faction'd, because it means you have to talk more, which is both (for some reason) frowned upon atm, and because it reveals more of you, which is bad for scum.

I dont think he has been in an argument for anyone. He was late on the train on day 1 and didnt even appear for yesterday. He has been very under the radar with a few post summarising things. he hasnt really pushed a case yet.

So, even worse at this point for Mockra, with Dibs actually taking a stab at making a case on him as cult (there's more to it on-thread).

@Stalker - alright, I am heading to bed in the next hour. I will not be back online for almost 12 hours, once I have slept and gone to my exam. When you get up in the morning, you can start a 48-hour Weekend Freeze. It is very good that liosan picked dibs. Right now, Eaters have 4/9 players. They would have the voting block required to win tomorrow with a Merrid lynch and a NK of anyone who is not an Eater. I enjoy more action than a simple quick win.

Liosan is being tricky too, he commented that the ability to recruit would likely not pass on since this is a mini, making people think the cult isn't an issue. But it is.
