CF, you should try out the Group Finder. Tanks get instance groups in 1-30 seconds; healers in 1-5 minutes; dps in 5-20 minutes without breaking a sweat. Links you to people from the whole battlegroup, much like battlegrounds.

And... less than 5 players just doesn't seem right. With the Holy Trinity of Tank/Healer/DPS, it... no, just no. Quests designed for 3 people can be soloed by some classes/specs, mostly anyone with the right level of gear. It'd be madness.

I only played the game before BC and it was awesome. I never bothered about getting into the end level content, to me it was more about levelling to 60 and otherwise exploring cool shit and having fun with the guildies.

I think that the Battle Grounds ruined the PVP servers because you'd no longer get the awesome clashes at Tarren Mill, STV, Ashenvale, etc. Or rather not as often or as big anyway.

Same as me...I want to raid to get the gear and achievements and stuff, but the amount of effort it takes to hold a group together (unless you're all guild mates, or something) is stupid, and unless I'm with a group of friends, I tend to get irritated by it all.

I would have offered you a guild invite if we'd been on the same server (and if you were still playing) but then I realised that unless you played on the European servers, for some reason (and I don't even know if you can do that), then there's no chance of us being on the same server.

Thing is I always enjoyed cooperative casual instancing more than anything else. It was always just such a pain to get a group into the instance in deserted vanillaland. Hence why I thought it would be nice to have a few instances geared for less players to make it easier.

I never played WoW when vanilla was the only flavour however, so I don't really know what the realms were like before BC existed.

@Gothos,

Coulda been the times I was playing too. I did have better success with my priestess on an east coast server than I ever did with my mage on central N.America server. Weekends were always halfway-decent late at night but any other time was just rubbish. Maybe it was just the realms I chose altogether. I never did research that.

And the group finder thing was about as useful for low-level instances as sitting in Ironforge yelling LFG on general chat.

I don't think we can be on the same server. I have access to 2 or 3 Oceanic servers (whatever that means) but no euro or asian servers.

I tended to take long breaks from the game, even when my account was activated. With jobs and about 20 other hobbies there's just no time for committed guilding.

That's why I always dug co-op pve on Guild Wars. There was always a group because every town was global and every outdoor area was instanced. No matter how often you logged on, you could always....always jump in a group and run an area or do a progression instance.

Now, I find WoW's persistent world infinitely more fun to run around and do quests in.. I guess I'm getting at content geared for the guild-wars-level-of-casualness player. Where it doesn't matter if you have tier armor and all that BS you don't have time for. You can just get a couple people and run around killing shit in an instance for fun. By placing a bare minimum of 5 players per instance for low level casual play, it makes it difficult to participate in WoW instances.

Wait... did you actually play since the overhauled dunegon finder was introduced (this)? I hear people are getting alts 20-80 in just instances...

Aye, low level instances are easy with the dungeon finder and take seconds because most people are playing end-game content now, so it matches you up faster.

oh, probably not then (that link is blocked at work).

If it works as good as you say, it would be worth dredging up my old toons for probably. I never liked the infinite questing (tried speed questing guides and the whole bit) cause it just got too lonely on the 1-80 trek.

If I could fire into an instance every time I got online, I'd love it.

It doesnt usually take long to get into an instance. You can quest at the same time and get to level much faster.

Anyhow 4 days to go .......

Also, my nelf mage is level 38 now.
Note here: if you want to go through whole zones in a linear fashion doing storylines and every quest, and still be in the 'right' level for that zone and the quests you do... avoid dungeons. I did like 5-6 dungeon runs so far, and I'm not even midway through Desolace (30-35 zone iirc) and everything is either green or grey. Though I guess oneshotting mobs with arcane blast crits is quite funny.

Yeah, levelling a dwarf shaman at the moment, and even though I have the heirloom shoulders and chest and I've left them in the bank because the xp was just coming in too fast!

Leveling a Troll Hunter just because I can, but I also pre-ordered Cata and trying to get my DK into a real raiding guild at the moment, prospects looking good, because I have leet skills. Fear the DK!

What servers are you all on? All my characters are on Stormreaver; got an 80 druid, 80 shaman on alliance, and 80 warrior on horde if I remember right. Just renewed subscription today, downloading the latest patch (it's pretty damn big, I assume it's the Cataclysm prep patch).

I'm on doomhammer...but more importantly, who's doing an all-nighter tonight?

Also, has anyone else been into Gilneas yet and noticed that it was completely empty...like...completely? I'm sure it'll all be filled out tonight but still, I've been a bit concerned that they'll actually just leave it like that.

EDIT: Anyone else agree that paladin t11 gear looks crap? :hulk:

I didn't bother going into the new zones without cata, been busy doing the alt! I'm actually looking forward to making a horde one too, Kalimdor seems plenty interesting so far, especially wherever there's war going on between Horde and Alliance.

Finished Feralas yesterday night, must say that was so far the most boring zone. But I hear Thousand Needles is plenty fun, and you get a boat! I'll have to leave the mage for now though, leveling of the main is incoming. And then the gear grind in heroics. And then raids.

GP, my all-nighter will be tomorrow night. I've got a lot to do tomorrow and my girlfriend has stuff on to. There's a Champion's League match to watch for starters.

You guys realize that you should have 25 daily quests completed and ready to be turned in so at 4:00am PST (for N.A.) you can turn them in and get like hafl a level in 10 minutes, without doing any of the other quests?
