Though GotM states Unta as almost as populous as Darujhistan, RotCG states it at about 80,000-100,000

I was going to be witty and post a picture of a giant pile of ashes labelled Y'Ghatan, then I saw masan already did something similar for Kharkanas.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

Capustan WIP
Changed my mind again and decided to try and build a model of Capustan
I seem to remember there was a hill where MoI Spoiler
If anyone can remember where it is in the city, I'd be grateful. Also if you can see anything else that is off, tell me now.

Holy crap, Nobbs...that's pretty cool!
I don't even know where to begin...I never paint cities. What perspective do I choose, what level of detail am I supposed to paint.
I hate cities....Maybe I should have thought about that before I chose it as a theme for the contest...stupid, stupid cities.
I do not have the skills to paint them

That's exactly why I'm using Sketch-up to do it, you just build the building and then move the camera to whatever angle you need,
you don't even have to worry about perspective cos it does it for you.
@sinisdar, thanks.

Sketch up, you say?
Does things for you, ey?
Maybe I should try it?
Can you import Sketch Up sketches to Photoshop?
I ask a lot of questions, don't I?

Well, I guess if you build the stuff in SketchUp and do a screenshot of the angle you need, you can transfer it to Photoshop.. Don't know, if there's another way.. But that would at least save you the hassle of workking out the perspective
You'd have to paint the stuff over in PS anyway, because, frankly, the textures in SketchUp [at least the free version, dunno about the other one] are downright ugly. Unless you want to keep it all like this.
That said, if I cook up something for this contest, I, too, am SO going to need SketchUp XD

You should try Vray for sketchup 7 if you're a bit vexed on textures. its an awesome plugin that gives
you acurate atmospheric lighting, textures and everything in between. I can post you a link to the download
but its really an easy mediafire search away.
I'm at odds as to whether we want a city shown in full or in part.
Grim Whats the comps stance on a partial perspective of the city?
can we do human scale perspectives or is it aimed more at a birds
eye view?

I say you can do whatever you want, as long as we get some feel of how the city looks. I'm thinking about just doing one street or something, but not sure yet.

Unbelievably well done!
This must have taken you some time! how did
you reference the heights? for example how
high do you imagine your walls?
I'm really looking forward to seeing the
finished product. Again outstandingly

Yeah, it took a while.
If I remember right (probably don't) I don't think the walls were overly huge, 15 to 20 metres at most.
I figured the Thrall and the palace would be the biggest buildings and just worked my way down from there.

Inspired by CN I thought I'd try model Li Heng as I understand it.
REALLY wish I could work of a map for this but the perspectives
look promising...

Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

I seem to remember that the gates were not in a line to increase the defensibility , but I haven't read RotCG for a while, so I'm not completely sure.
But otherwise it's an amazing picture...
"I'm having one of those things... A headache with pictures." An Idea? "Yeah, that's it!"
