First Children of Mother Dark

On my Midnight Tides reread I caught something that I most definitely missed the first time around. Page 278 of US paperback, where Sukul and Menandore are dragging Sheltatha to the Azath and Osserc appears. They talk about some stuff, eventually leading to how Scabandari was dealt with. Osserc says:
"Mother Dark's first children were spawned without need of any sire. And, despite what Anomander may claim, they were not Tiste Andii."
Maybe we get this answer later in the series and somehow I missed it/it's obvious and for whatever reason I can't think of it. Or maybe Osserc is just full of shit? I mean, he's talking about the people who took down Scabandari (or so I gathered...he could just be talking about the world's great powers in general). This seems to suggest Kilmandaros, and yet I've seen nothing to suggest Mother Dark and the Elder Godess of Fisting are in any way related.

The implication is indeed that the Elder Gods are Mother Dark's first children

At the same time, this is Osserc's point of view. It is not fact, and it does look that he is implying that her first children were the Elder Gods, I always thought though that there were elementals, Mother Dark being one of such, and although she may have given birth to some EG's other Elementals give birth to other EG's as well?

No one else spoke of Mother Dark's first children because they had red hair and were unloved... in fact this is where the proverbial 'red-haired step-child' comes from. Everyone else is too polite to point it out.
Trust me, I'm a doctor.

this is actualy implied, when it says that mother dark first asserted order on the universe.

Is there some Euro prejudice at work here that should be explained?

Against gingers? It's hardly confined to Europe - we have it here in Australia, and it's even the subject of an episode of South Park.

Yeah, mean comments bring sunshine into gloomy days. As long as they're aimed elsewhere.

So...anything in later books that clears this up? Or is it just another of those things Erikson writes and is never mentioned again?

later books touch on the subject but it's never been conclusively answered who osserc was talking about. it's easy to infer that, given the context, that he's talking about the elder gods, considering two of them just slapped scabby down and that's who they're discussing.
though the whole mystery behind MD and the elder gods, as well as the creation of the universe does seem to be approaching some kind or resolution, if DoD and SW are anything to go on. so RAFO i guess
