Yep, and I had a gold rush last night. The bedrock level cave system under my hill is huge, got quite a few diamonds, but need more iron now.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I'm stoked for more exploring, but I gotta get the base of Moons spawn made first.

alright. Sneaked in a quick session before work. Got the circumference of Moons Spawn laid out now.

What's the dealio with the stone in the free stone chest. Is it replentished automatically or is Jim doing that?

Just wondering if we're expected to quarry our own stone or if I can tap that chest for whatever I need.

your choice -- but most (all as far as I know) of us are digging for our own.

I dont think I can do Malaz Island as my island isnt big enough. But I'll do Malaz City and then maybe start throwing materials into the ocean around it and make the island bigger.

But I'll probably stick to just malaz city.

Surely, on a server where you've voluntarily disabled unlimited resources, you'd be expected to mine for your own stuff? This is a general question, not aimed directly at CF.

If I were playing, I'd welcome a bottomless chest of stone but then I was also voting for unlimited resources. Surely a chest of...um...unlimited resources kinda defeats the purpose of having disabled it in the first place?

EDIT: Editted for a lower case I (i) :killingme:

Well, I think it is meant as a start up stash. But we're supposed to mine and gather our own supplies.

In other news, I've designed the grid for my prosed combined Azath-Monstertrap project.

It's basically a bigger and yet more compact version of the system I used for my first Super Monster Trap.

Check it out.

http://imgur.com/NvzBf

I don't want to hot link it because the picture is huge.

Basically on the surface we will have a big garden surrounding a big tower structure reminiscent of a Jaghut Tower/Giant tree. Around the garden will be holes to catch the unwary.

Below the surface will be a HUGE dark room. 3 Blocks high. 108 blocks wide and long.

Below the dark room will be a canal system that transports the monsters to the centre.

In the centre some 25-30 blocks below the surface will be a drowning pool that kills the monsters and allows us to pick up their loot.

Understand, right now MP is broken, so the trap is actually useless, but in the future, maybe a couple of weeks from now hopefully, it should begin to work and it will allow us all to stock up on arrows and TNT.

OK. Sounds good RE the stash.

Somebody slapped a pile of stone in my stash at moon's spawn though. Wonder if that was Jim??

Regardless...thanks.

I think I might wall off a small portion of the sea and dig a mineshaft through the lakebottom under moon's spawn. That's a good a place as any to start mining I think.

OOOOH Then when Notch makes buckets work in MP, I'll scoop some lava, make a magmafall out the bottom of moon's spawn and make it look like it's doing a drilling operation into the lake. This is going to be tits.

I noticed a hole in the lake bottom already with torches down it. Kinda weird to see a hole in the bottom of the lake all lit up.

EDIT...oh yeah. Can I connect into the sybridge system too? I figure I probably should at this point, given the scale of my undertaking.

EDIT EDIT...@apt, you planning to mine cart that thing too once they're working?

Feel free to connect with the skybridge Cerveza.

Me and Hidden began outlining the area the Monster trap will take up with the Azath in the center,

I have made a skybridge extension that goes through Slippery Jims tower out to the Azath area. As you can see from up there it is HUGE.

If people want to help out with the project the biggest job right now is trying to get the area relatively level. There's a lot of bumps in the area and there's a whole gravel and sand lake that needs to be dug out. If people want to help out they can begin where ever they want.

The areas level should be around the level where the skybridge touches down, roughly.

So begin cutting down the hills and filling in the valleys if you want.

Of course if anyone thinks there is a much better area or something needs to change hurry up and make yourself heard now before we get too far into the project.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but...social networking for nerds: http://www.minecraftr.com/index.php/

Also, I really need to get in on this multiplayer business. I've been busy at work and so mostly abandoned my original world after completing my glass lava tower. But multiplayer! Sounds good.

Is anyone using some variant of voice chat? Say, Ventrilo? And I'd be willing to help with hosting if there is a need. I have a good connection, decent comp, some knowledge, etc.

I checked out the azath area and excavated a small piece of sand for you apt. Partially filled in with dirth but I don't have time to devote right now.

Man sand and gravel are glitchy in MP.

Can you place a ring of torches (nearish to your workbench) at the level you want to build up to?

I'd suggest bringing it down a couple layers since it's so much easier to excavate level than to build up to level.

I hope I had the area right...it's the thing that says Apts mine project.

Chopped or burned all the trees out of there too for ye.

And saved lots of saplings so you can replant and make it look like a proper azath.

oh, well thanks then.

Dunno a thing about server privileges really.

If I help out Apt for awhile, I should have no trouble whatsoever keeping my stone supply up, but if you have some extra, moon's spawn is going to take several shitloads to complete. Go ahead and drop off some whenever you like.

ahhaha

floor of moons spawn complete at last.

And my pinnacle that will reach out to the skybridge near Jim's fort. Skybridge is next...then I got to contemplate what the hell I'm going to put on moon's spawn to make it look like the name.

I'm thinking off going with a naturally generated mountain look and only using my big circle as a platform to build off of. Then delete the platform and whammo. Best fort on the malaz server.

You should build a ramp of dirt up to it, too, so you can get grass growing on it!

I don't know if it's buggy in SMP, but grass only grows on dirt after a random period of time if it's within 2 blocks of a dirt block with grass on it already.

Program that allows you to build perfect spheres. Just change each value to 1.0

In other news any one on the MP server who wants to donate some dirt or cobble to fill out the depressions in the Azath area are very welcome to come do so.

Actually I'm cancelling the request for dirt and stone.

I just logged on half an hour ago and I've been looking around the area. I think the depressions will work fine as the floor of the dark room. I'm going to be chewing into the walls of the holes instead and using the dirt to create a roof over the whole thing instead. It would be silly to fill out all the depressions and then have to dig them out again afterwards.

So if anyone wants to come build a dirt roof and dig out the dark room with me instead they are more than welcome.

I'll be online for at least the next couple of hours.
