I'd like to make the quick prediction that the planet they wind up on - and I think they'll wind up on one, at the end of the finale - is actually Earth, as we know it, whereas the "Earth" they found nuked isn't.

I don't think we ever got a clear screen-shot of Nuked Earth*, so that's my theory.

* - And I'm not talking about the shot of Our Earth we see after Starbuck's sudden return at the end of Season 3. We don't know that's where they wound up; that planet had something to do with The Song, whereas Nuked Earth was found using Starbuck's shiny new Viper, and not The Song.

Wasnt Nuke dearth found to match with the solar system they spied in athenas temple/ tomb place?

If so then its definately the cylon earth, not ours.

Well I saw the finale, it was great. Liked the battle, liked the end since it ties into what I am learning about.

Won't say more until other people get a chance to see it since otherwise someone may stumble in here and be like omg spoilers.

I liked it.

But from the sound of the ENTIRE INTERNET EXPLODING, I'm guessing a lot of others didn't.

But it was badass. The final shots were a little mawkish (yeah, Ron, we get it, creating killer robots is a bad idea) but otherwise it all worked nicely. Well, almost:

@ Wert- that is exactly what I thought of, since they say a lot of the same things at the end. Though I did see a lot of people complain.

Besides that, frakkiin awesome.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Great finale. Very beautiful.

I have Season 1 on DVD. I'll think I'll pick up the rest of the series.

just finished.

Fantastic, agree totally with the sentiments that post awesome it was a bit protracted, I think they could have wrapped that up a little more rapidly.
That being said, the VERY end was wonderful.

Baltar is still a douchebag.

I just spent the whole day watching the entire season 4. I had purposely put of watching the season so that I could do this. Dedicate a whole day to one of the best Science fiction shows ever made, if not the best. 7am till 11:10pm. A day well spent.

Overall I felt the whole season could have been shorter though. It felt like there was too much filler for what they already knew to be the final series. All the plot twist were fantastic, if not in some cases extremely obvious.

Thoughts on the finale:
Spoiler

All in all, It was a great series with an adequate end.

took its time, but good enough, should have ended as the saw earth over the moon, and when they went to ask kara where she had brought them she should have just been gone.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHA

OOOOoh my god. Just watched the start of the last episode where Saul and Adama are sitting in the titty bar

and Saul is giving the YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! to the strippers while adama pounds back like 3 shots of hard booze.

Officially best scene in Battlestar. Ever. Bar none.

I'd rank that a second actually,

regardless, cool that the best 2 scenes in all of BSG are that close together...ie one after the other.

I liked how as the fleet flew into the sun they planed the music from the 1978 Battlestar, seemed fitting.

Didn't realize until recently that the guy doing Zarek (Richard Hatch) was Capt. Apollo in the original. That's cool.
