That still doesn't explain how Starbuck comes back. My theory is that she is either the 7th (most likely not since it was Daniel) or she just got resurrected somehow. The last episode said that the ressurection technology originated with the humans and then the cylons recreated it, so maybe some humans out there have the technology.

Speculation: With all of its allusions to our culture and mythology, I have always thought that the humans were the creator of the earth we know. Do any of you think the series might end with some refugees (and reproducing cylons) on a planet, repopulate it, eventually becoming today's world?

We created the cylons, war broke out, humanity fled to cobol, rinse repeat, the 12 colonies.
Considering the links to our ancient mythology them leading into us would be silly as a masive technological wipeout would have to occur.
Unless; - in a bid to break the cycle, some people drop themselve sonto a new planet technologyless, and thats our foundation.

I remember in an earlier season when Starbuck was on Caprica, she had been captured by the cylons and they were supposed to be doing some experiments/research on her and her ovaries. Maybe they somehow produced a clone or rediscovered resurrection out of that process.

I found Helen kind of schizophrenic. On the base ship she seemed much more in control and interesting then when she returns to Tigh. On Galactica she reverts to her previous behavior, and seems really flaky.

Anyway, gotta say I liked the music thing too in the end. I didn't get that the dude was a figment of her imagination or her father until right at the end either. I almost got thinking "oh great, 3 eps to go and you assholes are throwing another crybaby wankfest at us" and then BLAM she starts playing the final five tune and everybody flips out.

So the music ties them together somehow...obviously extending into the other 8 cylon models as well (hence why kara/hera know the song), but I don't recall any of the original 7 models hearing the tune. There must be some link there though because Hera is the spawn of an Eight. I wonder about relationships to gaeta's tune and what the hell music has to do with anything anyway, but we'll see...hopefully.

Agree that chief is a soft headed frack. Boomer is fracking ruthless and they all know it but then he devises this elaborate scheme and ends up fucking everybody in the end. Fortunately though:

My new theory is that ability to have children with humans is the flaw in the 7th cylon model that caused the Ones to shut down and corrupt the entire line of Sevens. It is also the reason that they are all so hot to get ahold of Hera, the directive being to get rid of her and then possibly shut down all the Eights too. It makes at least partial sense that the 7th and 8th cylon models would exhibit the same ability to have kids....like perfecting the reproductive process didn't come about until the 7th and 8th models were created. Might also explain why a Six was able to start the process but couldn't carry the child to term. Like the Ones are a less-perfect copy of a human than the Twos, who are less perfect than the Threes and so-on.

For the Ones, who are hell-bent on a pure cylon race, the ability of the later models to breed with humans is intolerable...hence why they corrupted the Sevens' (Kara's dad's) genes and are after Hera in the first place. Ones can't live permanently with humans because they are actually different on a fundamental level and are a little over-xenophobic.

Thinking about this makes me wonder if maybe the Eights' ability to think independently of their model is a product of their position in the development line...like individual Freedom of Choice wasn't perfected until the later models either.

Reminds me so much of the Data vs. Lor struggles in Star Trek TNG. Lor created first but was imperfect due to his rampaging emotions and capacity for evil as a loner outcast. Data created later as an amended design that was incapable of evil due to his complete lack of emotion.

Anyway, that's my 2 pence now. Progressive development and revisions through the cylon models...meaning an Eight is a more perfect human analogue than a One.

Yeah, I thought about that too...but since the Final Five are kind of a creator-race or something, I figured they were the exception to the general cylons-aint-have-babies rule. Its the type of thing they could deal with pretty easily plotwise without causing huge nerd outcry.

I wonder...and it may say this (I don't remember) if the other cylon models have been able to actually conceive in their own experiments...or if they even bothered to experiment before meeting the humans.
