Well obviously she's a mage lol. And I thought about her just using some kind of illusion, but it seems like it may have come off when she got knocked out by the brick, or when she was lying in that Azath coma for so long. I mean that isn't a certaintly, just something that makes sense in my head.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.
It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.

Ya know... It never even occured to me to make the connection that the 2 Kenryll'ah demon princes we see farming in RG are the same 2 that chased the FA down that deep, deep hole, iirc, at the end of MoI is it?
Or I make the connection every time i reread and forget about it... That sure was some deep hole if it led all the way to Lether...

The deep, deep hole in Midnight Tides? The one that is situated in Lether?
Yeah, it's pretty deep.
Yeah, it's pretty deep.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Thought so...
Edit
Just realised what was wrote...
I was sure it could of been every book but MT as I thought Malazans were involved! Least that clears that up, thanks!

Makes sense, but Possum's faked horrendous wounds don't disappear when he's knocked unconscious either, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

I'm thinking illusion magic doesn't work like in the Dresdenverse, where the illusion is determinate on the caster sustaining it at all times. Instead the illusion can be self-sustaining, like Shadowthrone's glamour on the Throne of Shadow, (relatively) permanently laid and designed to alter the perception of any who look on it.

Wild speculation time...
Hedge and QB chatting in RG...
Maybe this was just a typo and he was referring back to DG but what if Apsalar didn't walk off into the sunset and actually accompanied the BH to Lether...

It's an interesting quote, but I'm not too sure about its veracity. Apsalar suddenly appearing to aid/sabotage the Bonehunters after not even seeing hints of her since BH would seem very contrived. If she appears in Kolanse at all I'd expect her to come from a different route than from Lether. Besides, it's Hedge and Quick Ben speculating about Shadowthrone. I'm not so sure their motives are as clear cut as they seem to think.
Anyway, my re-read tidbits: Torvald has an axe that is very similar in style to the blade received by Tavore from Mael in his stash of Blue Moranth goodies, and Bottle's grandmother used a Jaghut-ensorcelled blade for her witchery, which explains where Bottle's soul-riding talents come from.

This one didn't make me feel dumb, but it is something I missed on the first read. It's a quote from Kettle in RG, page 105.
The only vast wheel I can remember seeing is the one that the Edur use as a bridge in MT that was built by Icarium. So did this wheel turn as part of his machinery at the end of RG or is something that is going to happen in tCG and aid in Iccy's recovery?
In this scene, Kettle also talks about the CG not being ready for people to head east, into the Wastelands where all the secrets wait. I love Erikson's little bits of foreshadowing.
Quote
"[The people trapped in the Azath] said the vast wheel is about to turn, one last time, before it closes. It closes, because it has to, because that's how he made it. To tell him all he needs to know. To tell him the truth."
"Tell who?" Seren asked, scowling in confusion.
"Him, the one who's coming."

Reading DoD and I got to note that Seren's child will be due in 3 months time from the start of DoD...
The new Knight of Shadow... Trulls child...
Just the thought that how he will be able to heal shadow, it's said that Kurald Emhurlahn (sp?) is shut off to all but the Tiste Edur and humans use Meneas and Mockra, the human version of Shadow, well the bringing together of the Tiste Edur and Human in this child will bring together these multiple fragments of Shadow...
And in birth there will come healing... Maybe!

Actually this makes me think of Kallor at the end of TtH lol. With the return of Draconus maybe his curse is finally ended and he can finally ascend.
Because the curses of Kallor have come to pass does not denote that the combined curse of Nightchill, Draconus and K'rul has lifted from Kallor. The three still exist, albeit much changed from the time the curse was given.
I think there is a catch in the curse that I just noticed. Kallor's curse is "Draconus, what you create shall be turned upon you" but as curses usually go, there is a "let".
It does not say anything about imprisoning him forever. So technically Draconus being free does not violate the curse.

Neither does Sister of Cold Nights. she is torn apart but still lives. (this has already been pointed out but put here for completion).
"K'rul you shall fade from this world, you shall be forgotten."
Maybe the let is that he could be worshipped in other forms or maybe he created the warren's to still have some influence.

Just re-reading the prologue of MoI makes me feel like an idiot.
Some very interesting quotes from MoI prologue that seem to have great significance.
So are these 3 people the only remaining elder gods. What does that make Edgewalker.
Another interesting quote
So Draconus predates the union of Light and Mother Dark.
Draconus is Tiam's kin. Krul, Draconus are addressed as Brothers by the Sister of Cold Night. Is the sister of Cold Night Tiam. Is she the queen of Dreams, who is also a powerful living sorceror?
[quote]
Desperate enough to part the fabric of chaos, to open a way into an alien, remote realm, to then lure a curious god of that realm closer.
[\quote]
So the worlds are separated by "Chaos" and not space. Draconus keeps Chaos at bay using Draginpur. Krul is capable of embracing souls. Is he the original Hood.
Krul creates worlds and populates with souls, Draconus protects the world from intrusion by Chaos and the Sister of Cold Nights manages life in the world by actively intervening in it.
- Krul' created the Imperial warren from the ashes of Kallor's Jacuruku.
- Kallor's empire came soon after the First Empire but developed seperately.
- The crippled god's fall destroyed Korel by causing some kind of Conflagaration (like a meteorite :-)
- Kallor destroyed Jackuruku about 3 years after the CG's fall.
Some very interesting quotes from MoI prologue that seem to have great significance.
Quote
Two other elder gods were converging on the Kallorian empire. The decision had been made. The three - last of the Elder"
So are these 3 people the only remaining elder gods. What does that make Edgewalker.
Another interesting quote
Quote
Then Draconus spoke, "Since the time of All Darkness, I have been forging a sword...
So Draconus predates the union of Light and Mother Dark.
Quote
I have ... prepared for your arrival. Oh yes, I knew you were coming Draconus, Tiam's kin. K'rul, Opener of the paths. His grey eyes swung to the third Elder. 'And you. My dear, I was under the impression that you had abandone your old self. Walking among the mortals, playing the role of middling sorceress - such a deadly risk, though perhaps this is what entices you so to the mortal game. Yo've stood on fields of battles, woman. One stray arrow ... 'He slowly shook his head'

I just started rereading RotCG and Liossercal/Osserc also predates the Dark/Light union (as well as the birth of Shadow).

This statement has to be taken with a pinch of salt. They believe they're the last EG. If you think about it, right in the prologue Ardata is also mentioned,
Draconus is Tiam's kin. Krul, Draconus are addressed as Brothers by the Sister of Cold Night. Is the sister of Cold Night Tiam. Is she the queen of Dreams, who is also a powerful living sorceror?
The Queen of Dreams was a mortal mage that walked with Rake and Brood and her name was T'riss. There's no connection with SoCN. Also the term Brother is more as Brother EG than any blood-ties

Ha Ha, maybe I am reading too much. But can you blame me, SE and ICE are making me paranoid about what they "really" mean.
This creation mythology has really got me twisted. darkness, light, shadow, creators of paths, chaos, elementals, tiam, dragons. Hoping that SE and ICE really will pull out some coherent explanation.

Seriously? I think that they've done exactly what they intended to do, put every single races' idea or theology about "In the beginning" out there. I think the point was to make us reflect on our individual beliefs and say I believe in the big bang theory but that doesn't make me any better than the guy who believes God created the world in six days. I think the point ICE and SE are making is that because there are no reliable, objective witnesses it's up to us to make our own decision who we believe. That being said personally I believe the Tiste version 'cause they got Rake's backing and you don't get awesome without being right, right?
The Errant scowled and looked away, his good mood evaporating. 'Mortals,' he said, 'will eat anything.'

I am currently rereading MT (the only book I didnt reread except Stoneweilder) and it is full of stuff I missed before.
Scabandari killed Andarist's love and sparked the exodus out of Kharkanas.
Didnt' notice this before but he actually imprisoned Father Light (Hmm, who is this guy anyway, Is he Osserc (in which case he is stepfather to Anomander) or Osserc's father
(in which case Osserc would be some kind of step-brother to Anomander)
and the most confusing of all
This looks like what Draconus did
The elder gods got really mad at Scabandari for doing this mischief and killed him for it.
but wait there is more
Who is this badass? We know Killy delivered the killing blow but somebody already pretty much destroyed him before that.
Unfortunately, SE can always claim this was just Edur mythology while leaving us chasing the false paths.

Kaschan sorcery was sent into the warren of Mother Dark, like a plague Thus was sealed the gate from Kurald Galain to every other realm. Thus was Mother Dark driven into the very core of the Abyss, witness to the endless swirl of light surrounding her - all that she would one day devour, until the last spec of matter vanishes into her. Annihilating Mother Dark.
