It's decent but hellishly short.
Also, my Hawke's new 2h sword looked ridiculously silly.
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed; who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

my hawke is a rogue so im hoping for win of the twin blade variety. Gonna try download the dlc tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, so im on my third playthrough and i decided to take bethany along for the underground trip this time round. The result of which i am thoroughly unimpressed with.

Im inclined to think Bioware should allow your play to decide such things. Ie. Whichever companion dies the most in battle gets the spirit class power up or whichever character clocks the most kills gets thee inexplicable curse. That way i dont carry on wishing i hadn't offered character x my best magic staff. Shit.

So finished the new dlc. Not bad, liked the new maps, the story was fun and pretty solid (I liked the fact that there were insane Gray Wardens) and this also suggest that the Architect might still be alive via body hoping. The one downside for me was the Key to the prison. Sorry but that sword was just ... like something out of Final Fantasy. Sigh. Also I'm wearing the Fortress armor for the rest of the game because damn it's awesome (plus the winged helmet makes me think of Teutonic Knights which were badass looking - however insane they might also have been).

I really hope they churn out some more DLCs of this quality (or you know, maybe even better).

woohooo! It must be said DA2 was much better this time round as a warrior. Wow. I did so much different. Bethany died early which sucked but i killed anders! Also siding with the templars made the ending make much better sense.

If possible i hope bioware run a scenario in DA3 where the champion and the warden either team up or face off with whatever character you end up with because that would be perfect..

On: the new DLC, Mark of the Assassin.

I liked it a lot. It's not very long - only took me about 3 hours to finish - but I'm satisfied (even if bang-for-buck is atrocious, but hey, that's DLC for you). The story flows pretty nicely, there's a stealth sequence, awesome new party banter, plenty of new models and environments, and then there's Tallis - I absolutely adore her! WTB her as a permanent party member, really!

If you don't mind blowing 800 points on a DLC, get it. It'll do for a nicely spent afternoon.

Got it and finished it. It was worth it. Story was fun and I liked it better than Legacy because the... Heart of the Many brings up some interesting possibilities, new enemies were fun (I liked the Ghasts especially), stealth was a bit annoying but that's only because I generally suck at stealth, Tallis was good (and Isabela said a threesome wasn't out of the question) and the Orlesians were over the top hams - which is what I expected of them so it was all good. Bioware needs to keep this up.

Now if only they made a DLC were you deal with the Quanari on their home turf - I'd love to see that.

I hope you can somehow side with the Qunari in DA3. Seriously. I love those guys compared to the mess Chantry/Tevinters/Maleficarum make.

The only thing I don't like about the Qunari is their treatment of mages. The reason I'd like a DLC on their home ground is because I'd like to see how they live and the chance to talk to Qunari who aren't warriors.

Well, you'd be opposed, yeah, but seriously - after DA2's conclusion, I seriously started thinking they're right on that account as well. We're all (well, almost) hardwired to root for that oppressed underdog prosecuted for being different, but damn, in that setting THERE'S GOOD REASON FOR THAT. We've seen the Circle is not nearly enough. The worst crap in that world happened due to mages. Tevinter oppression, the Blights, various cults and maleficarum pockets - seriously, that world would be better off without mages.

I'd love to play a Qunari mage leading a revolt against the oppression of mages. Whatever the history, there's no justification for treating _individuals_ as though they were responsible for the crimes of people dead ages past.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

It seems clear to me that, in-universe, the best thing to do with mages would be watch them while they attempt to correct the fault of the Tevinter Imperium and repair the damage done by the Tevinter mages. Curtailing their freedom is a stop-gap solution that isn't viable long term. The Chantry should encourage that, surely?

Actually when I first heard about the mages in the DA setting I immediately thought about psykers in 40k (and the qunari seem to have thought the same thing). It's weird for me because I always try to find the compromise/ non-extremist solution ... except when I enter a 40k mindset and then I'm a Commissar. Then I stop looking at the mages as people with a terrible curse but as WMDs that need to be properly contained and used. It feels like I'm removing compassion from the equation in the name of survival. And yet, they ARE a threat, they are vulnerable to demons (Anders and Merril have good intentions and yet look how well that went), they easily fall back on blood magic (how many blood mages were there in DA2?).

The fact that there is no easy solution to this is a point in Bioware's favor.

Anyone think DA3 is going to be in Tevinter?

I was just playing through DA2 again (and side with psycholady, despite how much it hurts to do so. DIE MAGES DIE) and it just seems like the next place.

Then DA4 is going to be the heroes from the other 3 DAs fighting off the Qunari or something?
