Well, they were obviously there for a reason, and with their arrogance they're not going to reunite with anybody >_>
'None could guess my confusion, my host of deluded illusions and elusive delusions! A mantle of marble hiding a crumbling core of sandstone. See how they stare at me, wondering -all wondering- at my secret wellspring of wisdom...'
'Let's kill him,' Crokus muttered, 'if only to put him out of our misery.'

Liosan wants to attack Shore...wtf?? It looked like peaceful reunion...
OT is named Korabas (I didnt know it)...and someone will have to throw Heboric at her.
Azath sealing SD is dying... ??? ... is it really "Kettle"? It looks to early to be dying away.
And lets put known prologue with Cotillion into place...is he coming against Killy, SL and Errasbitch?

I'd been wondering where the rest of the Liosans have been for the entire series. We see a party of incompetent scouts go forth and get plotzed by just about everyone they come across, but the rest of them had to have been doing something. That something looks like fording the border between Light and Dark with an enormous war party. Interesting timing though, as both Osserc and Mother Dark are free and the Watch are now back at the Shore. It's almost like they've come to reassert the contentious balance between elemental forces.
We've known the name of the otataral dragon for a while now.
The Kettle Azath thing is odd - perhaps the blurb means "under threat" or something like that, instead of dying. This Azath has the patronage of Shadow, as well as the life blood of Kettle and soul of Scabandari (I think). Perhaps Shadow is letting the dragons fly through to reassert the balance with the soon to be released Korabas.
As for Cotillon, I've no idea. Your guess seems to jive right though. That'd be an amazing fight. The finest assassin's skills vs. overwhelming brute force and trickery.
And where's Silverfox and Ganoes, damnit?
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Veeeeeeeery interesting. So, after all this, the FA are the big bads. I'm not prepared to discount the CG, however.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

i posted this speculation a while back...
Quote
in the prologue of DoD just got the idea that the jade giants are been summoned by the forkul assail to bring final justice to the earth
"a final war had begun. facing an enemy against whom no defence was possible. immune to lies, indifferent to excuses and vapid discourses on necessity, on the weighing of two evils and the facile righteousness of choosing the lesser one"
and when heboric sees into the eyes of the enemy:
"I now see with my enemy's eyes, and so shall speak with its voice.
Behold, my friends, I am justice.
And when at last we meet, you will not like it."
bringing me on to how they're doing this... by holding the "heart" of the crippled god holed up in kolanse and through this gaining the knowledge to his realm and the rift he was brought through. thats the ritual they were preparing n in the prologue, badelle i think, is talking about all the trees cut down and lay in vast circles leagues long.
thats why everyones heading that way, tavore to maybe break the crippled gods chains and release him to save the world, elders to gain this power and bring about destruction etc...

still not really changed my opinion on it, just not sure where the crippled god comes in, they using his power and he's helpless or co-workers working together to bring about the destruction

Tavore wants to break the CG's chains, right?Well where does that leave Burn? Her sleep was the direct consequence of him being chained to her flesh. How does that affect Olar Ethil who claims that Burn is one of her avatars? And through her,the awakened T'lan Imass?
The most important part of a blurb (in my oh so humble opinion) is what is omitted.A good blurb (like a good trailer) shows you only what you expected to see in the first place, omitting the shocks and turns of events still waiting in the actual story.

I'm going to go ahead and guess Silverfox won't appear until the Assail novel.
Ganoes will definitely make an appearance, and I have a feeling he'll play a pretty important part. I'll be pissed if he doesn't appear, but I think the chances of that are about 0.

uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

Savaged by the K’Chain Nah’Ruk, the Bonehunters march for Kolanse, where waits an unknown fate. Tormented by questions, the army totters on the edge of mutiny, but Adjunct Tavore will not relent. One final act remains, if it is in her power, if she can hold her army together, if the shaky allegiances she has forged can survive all that is to come. A woman with no gifts of magic, deemed plain, unprepossessing, displaying nothing to instill loyalty or confidence, Tavore Paran of House Paran means to challenge the gods – if her own troops don’t kill her first.
Awaiting Tavore and her allies are the Forkrul Assail, the final arbiters of humanity. Drawing upon an alien power terrible in its magnitude, they seek to cleanse the world, to annihilate every human, every civilization, in order to begin anew. They welcome the coming conflagration of slaughter, for it shall be of their own devising, and it pleases them to know that, in the midst of the enemies gathering against them, there shall be betrayal.
In the realm of Kurald Galain, home to the long lost city of Kharkanas, a mass of refugees stand upon the First Shore. Commanded by Yedan Derryg, the Watch, they await the breaching of Lightfall, and the coming of the Tiste Liosan. This is a war they cannot win, and they will die in the name of an empty city and a queen with no subjects.
Elsewhere, the three Elder Gods, Kilmandaros, Errastas and Sechul Lath, work to shatter the chains binding Korabas, the Otataral Dragon, from her eternal prison. Once freed, she will rise as a force of devastation, and against her no mortal can stand. At the Gates of Starvald Demelain, the Azath House sealing the portal is dying. Soon will come the Eleint, and once more, there will be dragons in the world

To be honest I like this thread better because it has a proper descriptive title.

We already knew tCG was going to have all these forces in conflict with each other and more:
-FA, trying to cleanse the world
-Bonehunters, trying to reach and probably free the CG
-Sech/Killy/Errant, releasing Korabas and annihilating a lot of stuff
-Tool's T'lan Imass (goals unknown)
-the CG himself (because you really think he's done corrupting?)
This blurb just confirms we're going to have these as well:
-Shake, undermanned in the defense of Kharkanas and MD
-Liosan, storming out of KL now that FL is back, for all we know trying to take over the world
-horde of dragons coming out of SD (goals unknown)
It's gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun

Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

Owww this is gonna be fun!
As for Draconus and Silchas, I'm kinda hoping they'll meet up.
Also could someone please tell me what IIRC means? It's been bugging me for a while now.
