have you got the link? i have seen the section on the announcements page but couldn't find the snake section? You say I am a moron because I don't like one single part of a series? Am i not entitled to my opinion? I Love malazan book of the fallen, I love the whole series, I love every character and every plot, yet just because I found the snake a hard read, and couldn't wait to get past them and on to the next part, you say I am a moron? Or is it because I have never heard of a blurby before? I have heard of a synopsis, but never blurby, I don't think every post that you have posted has been received in warm welcome, and I don't think you have the same opinions throughout the whole series, you can see that from the favourite characters section, you all choose different characters for different reasons as your same character! How many people chose one of the snake as a favourite character? Or a favourite scene, maybe instead of calling me a moron you could have explained a bit more about the snake to me, and actually let me know why you thought it was so awesome, then and only then may my views change, or I may be able to have a different perceptive on the subject.

Uhm, Tattersail, I can't quite tell if you're just quoting something or you just blew a gasket.
The referral to a moron on the last page was in regards to a troll on Eriksons blog, not you.

Ah, the perils of a message board. My apologies if I gave the wrong impression, it was most certainly directed towards the person on the blog and not you.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I get the feeling that we will see Nimander and co. coming to the rescue of Kharkanas.

Great synopsis, but the part that excited me the most is the bit about the Azath in the Refugium, if for no other reason than:
UDINAAS will be BACK! I was worried my favourite character was finished for this series.
I wonder if the Azath's death has anything to do with the Forkrul Assail soul in Kettle. So much was made of it in MT, yet it gets completely ignored in RG. And with the prominent role the FA will be playing in TCG, there's a possibility of a link.
And maybe the ultimate resurrection will be that of Scabandari Bloodeye. He's another character I'm eager to hear more of.

I don't doubt one bit that you are right on with this assessment, but i'm just curious as to why her FA soul would be that big of a deal? Trying to piece it together, and while it sounds right, i just don't get it. Maybe the FA are waging a war against the Azath themselves as well as humanity? A war on two fronts, so to speak? And Scabby has essentially been locked into a Finnest (un-Azathed IIRC) for a couple/three hundred millennia, so why would he suddenly be "poison" now? Interesting stuff here that i don't quite understand, but i imagine the mystery unveiled should be well worth it!

Kettle being an AZATH with a FA soul will have something to do with the final I think, Its the way to defeat the FA on Kolanse

Oh....she's THE Azath? I really need to hurry up and get through this reread project (just started reread of House of Chains yesterday), as i remembered her being the vessel of the Azath, i.e the seed, not the House herself! Well, this does change things, don't it, if that is truly the case? Wonder what role the Eleint will have in the long run of things provided they do break through? Great stuff going on here!

I like the feel of Tiam being reborn.
Because when the Destriant to the Che'Malle say that if the dragon that is the antithesis of life (the otataral) were to return the dragon of life would follow it back and vise versa?
And who else would that be but Tiam?
I just hope Errestas gets the living daylights kicked out of him by... anyone really.

Looks like a promising finale.
The threat of Kilmandaros, her son and Errant. The Assail genociding to sanctify enough blood to open a gate of ill repute. New threats of Liosan and Eleint dragons.
And nothing is said of the emerald meteors on their way...
So who do we have to oppose them?
Draconus. Karsa. Quick Ben. Mael. The defense team looks good to me.
It would appear Ruin and Ryadd are heading to oppose the Kilmandaros and company. If that Seguleh youth from Return of the Crimson Guard wasn't the First, we have another ally K'rul wanted to make use of.
Oh, lets not forget Paran, who may or may not already be in the middle of the Assail slaughter. His army combined with the 14th.
But I think we've forgotten one ace of spades:
Hedge.
He took out Raest, superpower fiend that he was. A human and a bomb. The mega muscles of yesteryear didn't have bombs in their time. They're slow to realise what humans can do.

Since we know that Grub is a future First Sword, we know the world as we know it will continue in some form. The FA should be going down-although SE has definitely avoided good vs. evil, he does seem to condemn fanatics in general and value those who understand the law of unintended consequences.
I seem to be the only one who comments on this, but so many of the characters to whom we are drawn are existential heroes, of the noble variety (i.e., Rake) or anti-heroic (Kallor). I am looking forward to seeing the extent to which various characters act in a "here I stand; I can do no other" manner.

...and just to build on that, it's been implied more than once that there is a Nameless One link to both the FA and the Azath AND Kettle.
Kettle being a seed and vessel, it's not impossible that we'll get a scene inside the Refugium House where she's hanging out with Scabby whose soul was in the Finnest that triggered the Kettleseed.

Gods there is SO MUCH potential for those moments. SE could literally wallop us with one 'you keep going on, i'll hold them here' moment after another.

how do we know he is First Sword again? Who will he be First Sword for?

I think this too, although they will not be the only ones to get their arse kicked, there will be others, hopefully killy and erastas!!

Would you say Paran is an existential Hero? also "here is stand, I can do no other" what does this mean? They can do what they want practically
edit, my bad, You mean that there is no alternative other than the kill me or I kill you stand off scene?
