The Malazan Book of the Fallen Books 1-3 Character Quiz!

Linked above is a 30-question quiz I created on Sporacle regarding naming the appropriate character for each question! You've got 7 minutes to name them all. It might be really easy, it might be somewhat hard - I kinda can't tell right now. I hope there are no mistakes, but if anyone finds any (genuine, not choice of wording bla bla bla), please PM me or something so I can fix it up.

Otherwise: enjoy!

The quiz contains spoilers for Gardens of the Moon, Deadhouse Gates and Memories of Ice.
A quiz for books 4-6 to follow as I reread :)

Could have sworn it was "Thurule".

Plus your clue for the Gryllen thing was a bit vague - as Gryllen ate several people during the books, including some nameless people.

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

It was Thurule -- that annoyed me. Possibly got it mixed up with Ferrule. And I got sidetracked by Hellian for the spiders question, thinking that might have been misspelled also. Besides, Pust doesn't hate spiders :)

Thurule for sure.

Also, where is it stated that Orfantal is the second strongest Andii while in soletaken form?

I think that is something Korlat mentioned in one of the books.... will have to look for exact quote

She does say that. Only one I couldn't get was Picker giving QB the idea for using OP, don't recall that at all. (And I didn't get the quiz's spelling of Thurule but I knew that one.)

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

That one was toruble for me too - I don't know original names off all the characters, cause I read Malazan Book in polish, and I am not sure who Picker is :)

I got Picker *smug look*, but it wasn't actually her, it was the old witch of Tennes that QB visited. It's possible that Picker set him on that course due to Treach's armbands of +2 pinching, but I can't remember any other contribution she made.

Yo, I'm sorry about 'Therule' that's my bad - I did a quick internet search, which it turns out only verified my mistake, not correct me. I fixed it in the quiz - thanks for noticing!

The others are all correct though.
Korlat says Orfantal is second to none but Take in Memories of Ice when he's veering before Coral.
Pust hates spiders, are you kidding? Mogora, etc. Hellian isn't even a character in the first 3 books so it can't be her.

And here is the direct quote by Quick Ben regarding OP: 1142 of Bantam version:

QB: "Truth to tell, I'll have to thank Picker for giving me the idea. The night I crossed paths with the Crippled God. That, and your hints about the cold."

If you look up the scene in question, Picker says something to the effect of:

Picker: "Damn, you look scared witless, Quick Ben, and that means the rest of us ought to be pissing ice cubes."
It was the last words Quick Ben remembered that night, but remember them he did.

Also, just to note - it's funny what is discussed here versus the stats only I can see regarding the quiz.

For instance, more people got 'Therule' spelled wrong...somehow... than got 3 of the other questions, by percent.
And the soletaken prowess and spiders questions were the ninth and tenth most correctly answered questions thus far... both over 50% and better than 2/3s of the quiz. :)

I think its Jhistal, not Jistal, isn't it? I got a 20 because I couldn't remember some of the earlier characters like Kulp and Rellock's names.
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.

It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.

Regarding question: "I am Kalam's shaved knuckle in the hole" . . . . I always interpreted that as being the Trygalle Trade Guild. They show up when the need is most urgent.

So it was Thurule! I wrote it 4 times and it wouldn't give it to me.

I also put Tennes Witch instead of Picker at the Omtose Phellack one oh and it isn't fair that I put Bole Brothers and it gave me Mott Irregulars.

I've added Bole Brothers as an option. Merci!
