Yerp. An almost perfect football day yesterday. Only thing ruining it was West Ham's complete inability to be a football team. They should have gotten relegated three seasons ago, now they're just stinking up the joint.

This season cracks me up. How the fuck are we equal on points with the top? We've been poor.

Also, Bolton right now are great. Difficult to judge their position as such but I can see a UEFA spot with a bit of luck for them, they're doing it playing good football, and Johando Elmandinho is on some cracking form, his goal last week was one for the ages.

Another sexy goal by Boltolona. Seriously, magic.

Our fourth one v Blackburn was some nice stuff too, as in fact were quite a few of them today.

This week was the first time in Premiership history that all 20 clubs have scored in one gameweek.

And spurs have now managed 22 points this season from games where we have been behind. Now if only we could stop conceding so many we'd be doing pretty well!

Excellent weekend for football. Thank you Spurs for beating Liverpool. Thank you Blackburn for not even bothering to show up. Thank you Berbatov for actually deciding to play for once. Thank you Newcastle for frustrating the Chavski. :)

Not prem, but I think the messi v ronaldo debate can be put to bed, no?

On one game? Not really, no. Do you really think if you'd have switched Ronaldo and Messi the result would have been greatly different?

not so much one game, as every time they've matched up, be it in spain or England.

I think the Carlton Cole vs the entire Man U defence argument can be laid to rest as well...

It was Obinna that done us really. I mean credit to Spector and Cole too but Obinna tore us a new one.

Jonny Evans... no other way to put it but he's terrible, for a tall lad he gets beat in the air all too often... He got murdered last night by Cole and Obinna...

I don't know what's gone wrong with him, because up until this season he's been brilliant, one of the best young CBs in the world, but this season he's been awful - and it's been his usual strength, his positioning, that's let him down.

Roy Keane has once again demonstrated the amazing insight all his experience in football has given him by saying that drawing Arsenal in the semi finals of the Carling Cup was the hardest possible matchup. The man is a veritable fount of unexpected wisdom.

Total lack of confidence I reckon, recent terrible performances mixed with competition for the 3rd CB role with Smalling, I reckon it has knocked him for six, especially after his performances last season and already fighting off Pique for the back up role previously...

Bet Fergie is kicking himself with how Pique has now developed, not that I think he had much choice in letting him leave...

I was going to post a new thread on this but after reading what i wrote I just deleted it as it was nothing but one long rant at the 2018 WC voting and FIFA...

I honestly could go on forever, there is so many things wrong with whats just happened from FIFA to the media to the BBC to Russia/Qatar hosting a World Cup...

Need to calm down...

RAGE!!!!

Are you insinuating that some sort of corruption has gone on :p

Or are you merely a devastated England fan surprised that you went out in the "first round" :p

It would have been nice for England to get it and they would have done a fantastic job but to be honest it was never going to happen. The Panorama expose did'nt help but FIFA were always going to go with "developing football nations" and first timers ( not that Russia is developing, they just have more cash and are better at the levels of skullduggery needed to obtain this sort of event). My favourite quote so far has to be the response to a pissy BBC correspondent from some Russian bloke about the inclusion of an Oligarch (Abramovich) in the Russian delegation, " Well......, we did'nt have a prince......" Nice.

That is not to say however, that I don't believe for one minute that FIFA are corrupt as fuck, or that Putin has had Sepp Blatter's family held at gunpoint for the last 2 days.

Merely a devastated England fan surprised that we went out in the first round... with 2... 2 votes!

The moment Russia had in their presentation that it was 10-0 to World Cups been held in West Europe/East Europe it was obv what was going to happen! It was nicely played! To go with the fact that Russia actually need to build infrastructure/stadiums, Fifa like to leave behind a "legacy"...

It should have nothing to do with it, if the WC is only going to go to developing countries only then why even bother letting the developed countries bid... Don't get me wrong I think that it's good Fifa see themselves as the world saving messiahs but the whole process is wrong, it's too open to back handers... And with recent reports it would seem that would suit Fifa/Russian government down to the ground...

The media were continuingly trying to derail the bid at every juicy detail that popped up, fair enough if it was new and relevant but the BBC Panarama show was using incidents that happened 10 years ago and had already been investigated by Fifa. Then you had the ticket tout and Jack Warner - our main ally or so we hoped - which was just put in there to piss him off, it seemed like deliberate sabotage... and it did his job as we never secured his 4 votes...

As for Qatar, fair enough, a country with no football history gets the WC in hope to attract football to the masses... But I laughed at the stadium gimmick where they want to demolish the stadiums piece by piece and rebuild them in the most needy countries... In one way its a pretty cool idea but come on, I think they would prefer food/aid/shelter to one big ass football stadium... I guess they could use it as a massive tent but it did it's job for Qatar and helped them win the vote! Oh yeh and maybe all the £££ that went with it...
