I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Thanks D'rek. In the excitement of Chapter 23 I completely forgot I hadn't noted it here.

SE's answers to the TTH questions are up (same link as above, in comments) and there's some pretty cool information regarding Fall of Light in his "preamble".
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

My admiration for SE continues to grow. I love the honesty of his answers in these Q&A's. Hope I get the chance to meet him in person one day.

Exciting news about Fall of Light. Sounds like we're going to get another Toll the Hounds length book (I'm not complaining!). Whatever he does, I'm sure it will be awesome.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

And now I shuffle off to Amazon to order a copy of Brin's Existence.
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Toll the Hounds - SE answers your questions

(Direct link to his comment for us lazy types.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

This book has been making kissy faces at me from my Amazon wishlist page. Anyone understand whether it is a standalone or part of a series (or "same universe")? Amazon describes it as a "kiln book," but the only other Brin book that seems to fit that bill is Kiln People, which is 10+ years old and out of print...

Also, as long as I'm here...have they picked the next book for the reread? Dust of Dreams, hopefully? I'm still only halfway through Toll the Hounds. Bill and Amanda read too dang fast for me.
I'm George. George McFly. I'm your density. I mean...your destiny.

I think that Stonewielder is up next. They are going in the order recommended by SE and ICE--it's somewhere in the reread threads.

Yeah, I remember them confirming SW a while ago. After that will be DoD/TCG back-to-back.
