So here's the culmination of many months of hard work by yours truly, Dolmen and Corporal Nobbs. Probably some sort of Toll the Hounds spoiler, so beware!

Don't have a quote for the scene, it may be a compilation of several scenes actually, all I know is that it is damn awesome!

It's been fun :D

Hope you guys like it!

I am impressed but you've completely ignored my contribution to the other thread. I am disappoint:

Further nitpicking:

Are the design of the wagon just artistic license or did you base it on quotes?

Because my impression of the the TTGs wagons is that they look more like wooden tanks than fancy horse carriages. That carriage is way too bright and purdy for my taste.

Dammit, I knew I had forgotten something! I'm so sorry, Apt:P

About the wagon: I based it on descriptions from DG, when Trygalle comes to Coltaine's aid. I believe it was described as huge and gaudy, but I might be mistaken...

Really good pic, congrats to all. Who did what by the way ?

I reckon Grim did the background, Nobbs the carriage and horses and Dolmen the "rent". Not sure about the characters though.

The rent/ Warren opening is particularly good and the characterisations remind me of Terry Pratchett book covers for some reason.

It's all good. :D
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

On behalf of all of us: Thank you!

As to who did what, here's a quick breakdown:

Grimhilde: Background, horses, carriage, colouring of figures.

Dolmen: Figures and composition, general help on everything, excellent feedback.

Nobbs: Portal opening, composition (Cartographer was his idea), colours, excellent feedback and advice.

Hope I'm not forgetting something now...

Nice! I like! Posted Image Brings the pages of DG to life in that in conveys the chaos as the horses are throwing on the breaks after coming out of the warren they were travelling to deliver their much needed payload (cussers, crackers, flamers) Posted Image

It would have to be, but we don't mind at all!

I absolutely love how Faint and Glanno look very business-as-usual, hanging on by a single hand because they're old pros, while Gruntle and Jula/Amby are a bit more stressed out Posted Image Dolmen, Nobbs, get in here so we can rep you all. Great job all three of you!

That's really a great picture. Congratulations to all three of you. I especially like the warren/rent and I also like Gruntle.

Yeah, Dolmen did a great job on the characters! The rest of them are, of course, hanging on for dear life on the other side of the carriage :D

Any chance there's a higher res version out there somewhere for people to download?

Alright! finally released! glad everyone likes it, I must give great rep to my partners in crime, their work was phenomenal!

The characters I did were done off a terry pratchetish character model, I think from "the edge of the earth" cover, who ever picked that
up will be given rep instantly! I think grim was very good about managing the whole process, she has a gift, I hope to work with both her
and/or Nobbs again whenever we get the chance.

As I've said on DA, this is superb. I'm really impressed by the amount of cooperation that has gone into this; matching two different personal styles can be difficult, nevermind three. Everything appears congruent and flowing. My favourite areas are the horses, the carriage, and the individual poses (which depict the characters' personalities really well!). As for somewhere to improve, I'd go for the background; while simplicity does help focus the eye upon the main subject, it looks a little... too simple. However, that is a minor point - this is a complex painting that all who took part in should be proud of :)

Right back at you!

yeah, we must work together again...I have a vision of something sweeping, breathtakingly epic. Something with huuge explosions, and maybe a dragon or two! Mvahahahahaha!

Anything in the books fit this description? :D

And we are! I'm really surprised myself at how well everything came together, it's really cool when you think about it :p

But I'm never painting a horse again!...well, maybe one, or three. But never nine!

Maybe Quick Ben + Hedge vs. Menandore, Sheltatha Lore & Sukul Ankhadu. Reaper's Gale UK MMPBB page 1108. Awesome fight with dragons, magic & a cusser

On topic, amazing picture, I didn't imagine the wagon being white, but everyone perceives things differently I guess :)

Looks really awesome, but I always imagines the Tryggalles carriges to look more like massive, gaudy gypsy wagons in design (not quite, but more along those lines) than fancy horse carriges. (More like a Landrover with a bad color scheme than a ferrari if that makes sense.)

But still looks friggin awesome. (So late with the comment, but better late than never...)

I think Urb (or maybe someone else?) already did a pretty awesome depiction of that scene...But it's a really good scene...anyway, we need something epicer! A scene from DoD comes to mind:

Spoiler

Any other suggestions?

But I have no doubt we will get plenty of awesome things to paint from The Crippled God!

Imagine things differently? Boy, do we!

Like a Tinker wagon from WoT, maybe? Never thought of that, actually. To me it has always been a large horse carriage, don't know why though :p
