Continuity ICE's work

Should we expect ICE's work to have a continuity and overarching plot? It seems like Stonewielder will pick up some of the threads from RotCG, but considering he said his other books will be focusing on Jacuruku and Assail, will there be something that he is building to similar to SE and the Crippled God?
So, you're the historian who survived the Chain of Dogs.
Actually, I didn't.
It seems you stand alone.
It was ever thus.

I'd like some continuity between his books and Erikson's, personally.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Not entirely sure. There's obviously links between ROTCG and Stonewielder, so there could be links between SW and the Darujhistan novel, as well as the others. Since we know so little about what's going on in the 4 places his books will explore though, we can't really say anything definitive at this point.
As for overarching plot, I don't expect anything on the scale of SE's, since his are part of the Malaz Book of the Fallen whereas ICE's are just Novels of the Malaz Empire. I can't really see how all those disparate plot threads would connect either...

Kyle is gonna be the main hero in all of them, just to make everybody happy!
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Well that can't happen, seeing as he wasn't the main hero in RotCG...

Kyle and Cutter's Excellent Adventure is the planned novella between Stonewielder and the Darujhistan novel.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Oh dear god. I hope that NEVER happens in all of eternity.
(Just finished RotCG today, Kyle is, well, OBLIVIOUS to everything and Cutter is just a fantasy stereotypical idiot.)

At least it wouldn't be Myhbe's Adventure in Wolfieland.

You never know HD, who knows ICE could make cutter a beast. Then maybe they could kill each other, or do something strange.

Changing Cutter to being anything other than an EMO will be hard I think.
I hope to see a nice succesful Malazan campaign for a change. Overrunning Theft for example

It was a Malazan army using Malazan tactics. Under the orders of the Empress or not is irrelevant.
The Chain of Dogs is also arguably a successful Malazan campaign, even if the 7th got slaughtered in the process.

Again, we keep forgetting that everything the 7th did and the Bonehunters are doing is for the grand scheme of the empire. The empress mentions this implicitly to Tavore and even ST and Cots seem to be working towards something like that.. There's ample evidence to my claim. What exactly is this empire? Is it an idea, is it a notion of power or just gods (no disrespect intended, I believe that the gods in the Malazan world are just pwerful beings) and their games?/ WHo knows???

I don't think that the Bonehunters are doing it for the Empire. They are doing it for Humanity/The Fate of the World.

Any word on the proposed novella co-commissioned by PS Publishing and Sub Press?<source> I know Steve revealed he and Cam were penning it together, but I have no idea if it's till on the cards.

The Stormriders and Stormwall seem to be a common thread in ICE's books. I kind of like that. (Though I have no idea how they would factor into a Darujhistan novel.)
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

if anything, its that darujhistan novel that ICE and SE need to work closely on. especially since karsa is (possibly) going to be in it, as he is a 100% erikson creation.
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.

Half the characters in MBotF are 100% Esslemont creations, so not really.
