Toc the Younger.. ..maybe?

I was bored yesterday evening - or rather, I was looking for ways to look busy without doing my assignment - and well, for some reason Toc kept popping up in my mind.. So, here's a quick sketch of pretty much how I imagine Toc pre happenings at Coral.. Couldn't remember which eye he's missing, so it's the left one in this..

There's also a coloured version, but it only was good for reminding myself of why I hate guache.

Very very nice puck, I especially like the colour version :laughing:

I personally thought it was the right eye but no grounds for
that at all so great job getting him to look almost exactly
how I envisioned him aswell, mind the hair in my head wasn't tied
back but as he is an archer that wouldn't make much sense...

I notice you've added a patch.

Toc never wore an eye patch. He just had a ruined eye socket with scar tissue that he scratched at now and again because it was itchy.

Really? I wasn't sure, since I haven't read MoI for quite a while, so thanks for clearing that up :bs:


@Dolmen: Thank you :laughing: I kind of do imagine Toc with unbound hair, but as you said, it's somewhat impractical for an archer, I guess.

I think it's just an automatic assumption now a days/in popular spy/military/pirate fiction one eyed people are always wearing patches or glass eyeballs.

I believe it's one of the first scenes from GotM, when he meets Paran, that we hear about him getting a piece of moon in the face, and him rubbing the itchy scar.

Mmh, maybe.. At any rate, I just checked MoI and there seems to be no mention of an eye patch, but one thing I totally got right is that Toc's missing his left eye :laughing:

Looks very good, pretty much how I imagine him as well. Just watch the proportions on the left arm, both parts seem kinda long or/and the shoulder should be set further back.

smiles is right though. looking again, it looks like he's dislocated his shoulder. guy can't catch a break!

I hate to point out mistakes, but I have to agree with good ol' dinosaur Smiles there.

The rest looks great. Exactly what I pictured him looking like, except I thought he had short hair, but I'm not sure if that's said anywhere in the book.

It looks good, though my one comment is that his extended arm looks slightly long, and just doesn't look right around the join region.

Actually in Gardens of the Moon it is mentioned he uses an eye-patch, and it was the right eye. "Half the man's face had been burned away. A patch covered the right eye and the man held his head at an odd angle." <-- Shamelessly copied from the Encyclopedia since my copy of GotM is buried under another pile of books right now.

But awesome stuff Puck and Merlkir, looks great. :D
