i thought that at the beginning of DHG, when Fiddler had...well...."interest" in apsalar, the entire concept wasn't the best. I believe that SE was just trying to "fill some pages"
so that he could add extra unneeded detail.

That's just my opinion, please share yours and try to convince me otherwise.
"The red ink had been watered down. He painted wash on the map, covering areas now held by the Malazan Empire. Fully one half of the map...the north half...was red. Baruk jumped, his right forearm jerking out and knocking over the inkwell. The red ink poured across his map. Cursing, Baruk sat back. His eyes widened as he watched the spreading stain over Darujhistan and continue south to Catlin..."

Young, smart, sexy, and with a killer's abilities...who wouldn't like her?
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

Sexy? Where did sexy come in?

Plus, I sure don't want to have sweet love with an assassin, that's for sure.

I don't know if you're a girl or something, but Fiddler is a guy. No matter how old or how married a man gets, he'll still have eyes in his head and urges. Also, he's been on the battle front for what, years now? I'm sure there are whores trailing the army, but Fiddler doesn't really seem the type.

And without Masan Gilani...lets say that Bridgeburners ladies arent nominees in Miss Malaz...:o In that case, Apsalar, in her teens, style, no rude speaking seemed hot... who wouldnt "look" and "think"? Be honest! :p

Well, she's a teenage, asian(ish), assassin. Which indicates an extremely fit body.

From what I've learned on the internets, she's one tentacle away from featuring in Hentai.

If it's meant for anything, I think it's meant to start showing Fiddler's decay - from proud veteran, surrounded by comrades, to lonely soldier eventually seeking a rebirth from what he was (but not escaping it, natch)

Lol, that's MR Malaz, and i understand this whole thing entirely. but what the question meant was WHY DID SE add this in the book? it didnt have anything whatsoever to do with the plot. just my opinion.

i know, but i was just saying that it wasnt required to reveal more plot in the story...but then again when does SE ever reveal the plot in the beginning of his books???
