Found out who sent those texts today: a drunk friend holidaying in England at the moment co-opting somebody else's phone and sending it as a joke. Good to know in the end. Not very funny though.

So, had my last exam today. was pretty stoked to finally get a 1 PM exam.

ofc it was a 100% final, so a bit of pressure.
Was up all night, got nearly everything done. I hear my alarms go off one by one (clock at 7:45, phone at 8:15). I'm nearly done, another half an hour, hour tops. then....


I honestly have no clue what made me do this. I was sure this was a 1 PM exam for weeks now. but.... somehting made me want to check. "just in case". chuckling at my own foolishness, I go online, open the exam schedule.... Yep, 9 AM.

you how how authors say your blood can turn glacially cold? yeah. that. slowly turn over to the clock. 8:56.

fun morning. Naturally, the exam didn't start till 5 after, since everyone had to get seated, log onto ExamSoft (for all those fancy typing people--I wasn't one of them)

The exam itself was pretty decent (well, it was open book, so really, all we needed to do was know where among the 700-odd pages of cases the useful tidbits were. Oh, and the useful parts of a 150-section statute.). Closest to a "piece of cake" i've had in law school. But it'll sure be a memorable one.

now, since it was also the last one: can I get a drink, plz?

flying home tonight... as for sleeping... on Wed night, I got well and properly trashed, we got home round 6ish, and I slept till 2.

yestrday, I pulled an all nighter for no reason, went to bed round 7 AM, fot up 4 hours later to finish packing.
At this rate, I should correct the messed up sleeping patterns by the time I get home tonight.

The misses finishes finals today so I bought a bunch of beer and her and her friends are coming over after the last test to drink lots and lots of booze.

yep, that's pretty common. Me and a some buddies drank 4 bottles of vodka the night I was done.

So, Christmas has been... boring to say the least.

I've taken walks to try and alleviate the boredom, doesn't work while not walking. Baking did the trick while it lasted. Still I've done more dishes today than in the past week.

Enjoyed a few Smooth Ends over the past few days but otherwise very little booze. I don't drink alone. I sure as hell do not want to go into work tomorrow.

yeah, these holidays are pretty "meh"

all my friends are going up North for new years. they've rented a cottage with a hot tub.

Alas, they are staying there till the 2nd. And I have to catch a flight back to Winnipeg on the 2nd round 4:30
so, it'll be a family New year for me.

I also have a paper that's still due. I got an extension, since I've described to my prof the fact that i've been busy trying to file a small claims court claim formy father most of the break.
but the deadline is Friday. I really need to get going on that...

finally done the goddamn paper.
not my best work, but it's done now. and properly referenced, at least.

now I get to enjoy my break unencumbered by any commitments/outstanding tasks for the next day and a half.

So I got a new teapot for Christmas. Having to get used to it. The way it's designed lets you forget about bags or suspended filters so it brews easier and faster. That in of itself isn't that big I did that with my other ones with and external handheld filter. The big difference is that it empties from the bottom. This means that the more concentrated tea at the bottom of the pot with the submersed tea leaves drains directly into your cup. Then anything above the leaves goes through the leaves on the way out picking up more flavour.
The point is it makes a strong cup of tea. I'll have to adjust my amounts and steeping time. Still good stuff though.

Got a new coffee maker for Christmas. A Keurig, one of those deals that just makes 1 cup at a time.

The coffees awesome. Plus i don't end up throwing out half a pot. its pretty fanfriggintastic.

Yeah my friends have one, and there's one at work. Everyone loves it. I don't use it.
Coffee is expensive though if I recall?
