Have a good flight Ment.
TT, you need to lay off the booze. Seriously, I'm worried you'll have sclerosis soon.
My night's going to be nice and smooth. Get some reading in, continue working on my nanowrimo story (yes I'm aware it's over but the story isn't).
I've also checked out a few other video series on the Escapist.
One in particular leaves me perplexed.
Top 5 with Lisa Foiles.
The concept is Ms. Foiles makes a top five list of something found in video games. A kind of categorical review.
Similar in concept to Amanda Walsh's Top ten "insert category" music videos on Much Music, for those of you who are Canadian, between the ages of 19 and 28 and watched Much Music even briefly.
Over all there's a prevailing sense of trying far too hard. There are a few bits where she pulls off funny lines and or a good set up, though they are drowned out by that sense of trying too hard. Though there is potential that well developed could easily make an excellent show.
Many of the things that bug me, as well as the try hard atmosphere, are well describe in an article from Cracked.
She would really benefit from reading it:
The 5 Biggest Mistakes Women (Like Me!) Make On The Internet by Christina H.
On a more nitpicky note:
One of the things that struck me in her first episode was her clothes. I've rarely seen skirts that short, if it isn't a glorified belt. Combined with the mid drift baring tank top I was reminded of the kind of clothes 16 year olds used to wear and she is clearly in her twenties. Not to mention that those clothing items are incredibly passé (yes I know that sounds like a fashionista gripe, but I was never a fan of those clothing items and human psychology being what it is will latch on to any argument that supports my ideas).
She also needs to think about varying her pose. The hands on hips routine starts being aggressively redundant and stiff very quickly.
Otherwise that's about it.
Also my apartment smells like steak.
