Was Felisin disfigured by the bloodflies?

I thought this was implied during the bloodfly swarm that happened during their escape. Yet afterwards everyone they meet still acts like she is hot stuff and the disfigurement never comes up at all.

Yeah, I actually don't remember her being HOT. All I remember is that the guy on the storm (trying to avoid spoilers here) wanted her to be his wife, which I assume is just a servant he can have sex with.

its the way she acts that causes the arousal in men, cuz right from the start she's going around looking to use her body as a tool. the merchant in the storm even mentions that he might be able to rid her of the pocks (i think? correct me if i'm wrong)

Actually, Hebroic Light Touch says that a somewhat powerful healer may be able to remove the scars.

Still, ugly, out of shape girls can be just as sexy and attractive as pretty girls if the man has been traveling for a long time. And lets not forget that 15 years old, back then, was the 19~25 year old of nowadays (at least in real life, where people don't live millenniums).

All in all, I think she's a normal girl who just happened to walk into a lonely - or desperate - guy.

Not to mention that some people just feel attracted to ugly girls every once in a while. I know I have, and I'm proud of it.

Yes she was disfigured by the blood flies.

But something healed them considerably by the time she made it back to 7 cites.
I think Kulp or Heboric mentions that the scars are almost gone or fading fast, and seemed rather surprised.

Its probably due to going through the Warren of fire or something.
Perhaps it was the whirlwind goddess that did it?

Also...Felesin was considered the "pretty" daughter and Tavore was rather plain looking.
She was hot....just very used up by the time they escaped the otatoral mines
...┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐...

Why dont they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff?

Really? I was almost sure they said she wasn't hot.

Now, mind you, pretty and hot are very very different. Pretty is a girl that looks either OK or soso, while hot is a few levels ABOVE pretty (at least on my sexyness chart).

And it's true, the warren could have healed her a bit.

Beneth said she was incredibly beautiful. The reason i asked was because when it happened Heboric acted like it was horrible but it never comes back up again.

Doesn't that happen after Beneth gets killed?

By the way, Beneth is a prisoner...

I am re-reading DG right now and am about 2/3rds of the way through... so I feel kind of dumb for not remembering whether or not she actually was healed by their trip through the warren. I swear I remember reading something to do with her scars being partly healed or something. I should probably not be lazy and actually look back through those chapters.

It was a passing comment....something like "wow las, those scars...they are almost gone"

then it was never brought up again.

Wasn't it drinking from some water in the sunken city that healed her? Or was that someone else? Or eating the pale globed fruit from some orchard. Gah, I need a reread!

It was a joke by Kulp. When he wakes up after falling of the silandah Felicin comes up and goes "the seventh is camped right over there" just to F with his head, later in the same conversation because she is still being a pain in the butt Kulp says "lass your pockmarks are mostly gone" and somebody laughs when it startles her. It was a mean joke to get her back for the one she pulled on him.

Back in the days a women's peak would be around that age precisely.

A 13 year old could be considered "hot" back then while a 20 year old would be considered something like a MILF, I suppose. Taking into consideration actual life expectancy rates, if the time of the book was around the same as the Roman Empire (which seems likely), the average life expectancy would be 28 years of age. So you can understand that people got older much faster back then.

So, when you think of a 14 year old from the past, imagine you're talking about a 20~25 year old, steaming hot, young lady. It basically means the girl is in her prime, looking her best, and most fertile.

All in all, the male instinct would want her when she was 13~15 years of age, just like nowadays we want women 19~30 years of age. It all comes down to living conditions and life expectancy.

So yeah, she could be called "hot" even if she was 15 years old, since from there on her only path was downhill.

In the prologue, the priest who is chained up behind her mentions that all the looks went to the younger sister when comparing her with Adjunct Tavore

Back in the old days people didn't age faster. Life expectancy was shorter because of illness, malnutrition, and dangers of living in an accident prone society in general. A 12-14 year old who was in her childbearing years looked like she was 12-14 not 21. They just didn't have any notions of pedophilia back then, there was no ethical dilemma. Considering it was normal for Romans to have relationships with young boys on the side, the society didn't consider that sort of thing wrong. This thinking though is a common belief, but that's the real reason life expectancies were shorter.
