i'm pretty sure it didn't insta-kill my lvl 25 Paladin either.

But then again i'd always have a lvl 20 Might Aura at that point. that helped survival.

though I would spend a fortune on town Portal scrolls while fighting him, 'tis true.

Oh, most of the trauma is from the first few times with weedy casters I hadn't given enough Vit to, and he only really became a problem if I was underlevelled/lost all my gear in a freak accident on Hell mode (fucking duel-wielding twohanded weapons bug giving me two corpses, one with one weapon and one with the other and everything else I had, naked Barbs + Maggot Lair = PAIN). Plus I never really played hardcore since I wanted to dick about and not worry too much about life. Hell, when they fixed summoners I went there and slaughtered him the easiest out of all the non-Mephisto bosses on Hell with my necro, since clay golems and decrepify meant no actions that weren't melee hits until about Diablo or so. So it wasn't so bad once you learned how to play properly.

This. For a long time of d2 I had pings in the range of 2000-5000 regularly, so yeah, Duriel was annoying as hell.
However, where my best HC character met his end is... Oh My God.
Lvl 48 shapeshifting druid, had plenty of great gear from clan buddies, I was basically raping Nightmare at this point, but I decided to give a buddy a boost in NORMAL CHAOS SANCTUARY.

Oblivion Knights + Lag + Melee character... connect the dots.
That's when I stopped playing d2.

You used to appear in game before you'd loaded, but since this essentially made fighting Duriel IMPOSSIBLE, they fixed it.

I love how almost everyone built damage output suuuuper high over survivability. And how did you survive? Lifesteal. Unless, of course, you got Iron Maiden'd.

I still remember getting SQUASHED BY LORD DE SEIS and that motherfucker Venom Lord right before Diablo.

I wish they kept the potion dropping effect on the Oblivion Knight seal boss, it was unique and hilarious.

Though when the second ladder came out (more importantly the first ladder I knew about since I hadn't bothered for years) I decided to build a bowazon for the first time ever, and put enough points in strength for armour and everything else - EVERYTHING ELSE - in dex. That's right, 25 vitality, 450+ dex. I wasn't a glass cannon, I was a black hole gun made of bubbles. I did exactly the same for my summoner necro except a few more points in magic as well as strength and VITALITY I AM A BALL OF HEALTH because you didn't need to continually cast anything with a higher mana cost then my old friend Amp Damage. Except Decrepify on bosses. And occasionally Corpse Explosion if there wasn't anyone else in the game. And that reduce visual radius curse on GLOAMS

Clearly you were never 1. using Bone Spirit or 2. incompetent like me in PVP at the time. Also Multishot > whatever the last skill in that tree was, crossbow shotgun is superior to fixed turret machinegun.

Worst thing about burizons was Guided Shot. Magic damage (ignores armor and elemental resistances) plus multiples hits due to Piercing... lolpvp

My dad celebrates his 50th brithday this year and it just happens to fall mid-November....I have a terrible feeling that they are going to release ME3 around the same time. I never thought I'd be placed in a position were I would have to choose between saving the world or visiting my father.....I'm hoping if I phrase it like that people will be more understanding of my decision

well, Eidos Montreal finally listened to the thousands of angry fans, and announced that the new Deus Ex will include menu options to allow players to turn off the mandatory glow highlighting usable objects, as well as the objective marker.

Oh, I finished Portal 2 about ten minutes ago. Even though the guys who spoiled me for the ending were correct in every single way, it was still an excellent game. Now to find someone to play co-op with.
