Pokemon Sword and Shield is a thing.
So there goes my life whenever that releases.

Haha, saw the one the other say where the Queen with 2 level 100 Corgis sitting next to her is the final challenge. XD

Also, Bloodlines sequel would be super awesome. But so much to live up to!

Holy crap, Blizz released Diablo I on GOG!!!

I might just have to buy this. Never played the original, but I loved Diablo II, and hopefully that'll be next.

Edit: and Warcraft II is coming? :) that's BEYOND AMAZING. That was the game that made me fall in love with RTSs and cemented my childhood as a PC gamer. Tough as nails, but so, sooo good...

Fun video. Cool retro vibe (neon 80s awesomeness). The 'Grav-Dirt Launcher' weapon that tosses the guy into the wind turbine @ 0.46 mark though, amirite?Posted Image

I'm sorta getting more excited about this game.

Rage, unlike Doom 2016, was actually fun, so I'm keeping an eye on this one.

Anybody bought or considering buying Trials Rising on the PS4?

https://youtu.be/j5YOjjzDmYE

I bought it today and I wouldn't mind getting a rivalry going with some forum members. Not particularly interested in the multiplayer but it's fun racing against other people's ghost and trying to beat each other's best score.

For those unfamiliar with Trials it's sort of a racing puzzle game. You have run a sort of obstacle course on a dirt bike. It's surprisingly addictive and it seems they've returned to form with the newest edition.

I had a lot of fun with the original Rage, so the sequel's on my radar.

But it comes out same day as Plague Tale: Innocence, and I'm inclined to support a new smaller dev first. It'll also give Id a chance to fix whatever will be wrong at launch- and given it's only launching through Bethesda's launcher (though it can be bought from other online retailers at least, unlike the EGS games), Im willing to take some time on that one.

Ugh. Epic and/or Ubisoft made an executive decision to terminate all 3rd party stores selling Uplay keys for The Division 2.

GamePlanet and GMG both confirmed that after the release date they will no longer be able to sell codes for the Division 2 "due to the publisher's exclusive deal with another storefront".

Now, I'm not sure if this is Ubi cutting out the middlemen and using Epic as a punching bag to deflect all the consumer backlash, or if it's genuinely Epic furthering their anti-consumer agenda.

Either way, net results are not good for end consumers.

I've finally gotten around to playing Bloodborne on its own and not immediately after finishing Darks Souls 1 or 3, as to not be bored with the gameplay and actually progress properly, and it's genuinely one of the best games ever made

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

It really is. After a reasonable break since DS3, I'm looking forward to Sekiro - Shadows Die Twice. Might even be out this month?

Bloodborne/Souls combat with ninjas - and maybe improvements... can't wait to see what Myazaki has done with this.

Bloodborne is amazing. Easily in my top 5. No game ever had such satisfying movement and combat.

The spiritual successor to UFO: Enemy unknown, the crowd-funded "Phoenix Point" will be a one-year Epic Games Store exclusive. Backers who were promised either a Steam or GOG key at launch have the option to refund their Fig pledges, or get the game on EGS, with free DLC for the first year as consolation.

Edit: now they changed lot so you'll get a free steam/GOG key a year later in addition to the EGS key now. /edit (I guess the backlash was strong)

Welp, that's another one off my "to potentially play in 2019" list. Thanks to Epic, making a dent in that backlog looks like a real possibility.

In good news, Halo MCC is coming to PC. So that's something.
Guess I'll finally play the Haloes once I build a new PC and upgrade to Win 10
-edit; Actually, it's coming on Steam. Huh.

Yep, I backed Phoenix Point and saw all this yesterday. Haven't decided what to do yet.

I believe their CM let slip on discord that Epic offered them enough money to give every backer a refund and still make profit.

So it's down to how much you want the game soon, really, since it won't impact their bottom line.
Oh, and how much you want to put up with security liabilities of EGS, I suppose.

Requested a refund. Fuck it, and fuck Gollop. I've got more than enough other games to play.

The AMA is ongoing

Developers had enough money to finish the game as promised, but felt that approaching Epic for some financial stability post-launch is what backers would've wanted.

Edit: okay, so actually they just approached epic about having the game on the store (as one of many), but ended up taking an exclusivity deal, without consulting with their backers first. Still reprehensible, but slightly less so, /edit

Never thought store exclusivity would make crowdfunding suspect.

So, Google is having that GDC presentation on Tuesday on "Future of Gaming"

Ubi and id Software are part of the keynote.

So are Crystal Dynamics and.... Amy Hennig

Could Google be resurrecting Legacy of Kain? :p Be still, my beating heart.

Oh, and Jade Raymond, formerly of EA Motive is Google's new VP of an as-of-yet-unnannounced division (read: gaming).

Interesting times ahead.

I'm sceptical. Maybe they're ramping up for a future game streaming market but I don't think Google are planning to make any big moves as of yet.

Less than a week to go to find out.

I won't lie: literally yesterday I posted a reply in some comment section saying that a new LoK is the only title that might make me break down and buy a game from the Epic store. That series is my gaming kryptonite.

If by some miracle Google decides to fund another LoK game and make it exclusive to their streaming service... I'll probably sign up for it.

I'm long past expecting anything, but it'd be curious. Amazon is plugging away at their colonization MMO, Microsoft is rolling out project stream, and there's always a chance Google decides to jump-start the next gen arms race.
