The more they've shown of No Mans Sky, the less hopeful I have become of it. People were incredibly hyped up about this game when the PS4 launched, but there is little in the shown footage that suggests depth. This is basically a procedurally generated space exploration game that feels sort of like Minecraft.

The playstation conference at the Paris Games Week 2015 is just about to begin:
I am not quite sure what to expect from this conference if anything. But people have been talking about Sony MUST have something to show us. ANYTHING to make them seem like they give a fuck about competing with Xbox.
I am hoping for some solid footage of Rime, The Witness and maybe something from Horizon: Zero Dawn.
EDIT: ohh maybe they'll show a new David Cage game. It's a been a while since Beyond: Two Souls came out.

2 more weeks until Fallout 4.
In the meantime I'm busying myself with Chrono Phantasma Extend. Learning new combos is proving tough, but fun - just need to get the hang of certain types of cancel and I might even be ready to go online with it.

Anyone see this? I quite like it, bit different anyway. I like the different animal skill sets - if that's done right it could be used in a nice strategic way to take out camps or whatever. That bear combat looked a bit simple though.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

So, Paradox is in the process of making a 4x strategy game of, well, Paradox-proportions. I have a hard time not being too excited for this. I have hopes. And fears. But mostly hopes.
Rumours say Q1 2016, but nothing official has been said of a release date.

Yesterday Paradox acquired WhiteWolf (i.e., the World of Darkness IP) from CPP. I want to see what they do with that, as a publisher moreso than as a dev.
Dreaming of Obsidian doing a Kickstarter for a new Bloodlines.

So that means the CCP World of Darkness MMO is probably permanently cancelled then?! ;(

yep. totally dead. But Paradox said they're planning to multiple things with the IP, which, imho is better than have it sit in limbo.

Gah. I mean, I agree, but I don't see Paradox doing anything as potentially epic, or likely to be interesting to me, as that project.

Paradox isn't just a dev. They're also a mid-size publisher.
And they have the rights to Bloodlines now. They can actually license it out (to, say, Obsidian), and make a sequel. Or license out a diff. WoD brand for some other genre.
Kind of like GamesWorkshop started doing with various Warhammer and 40k titles. Imho, it's much better to have a prolific publisher like Paradox control the IP, then a one-project team like CCP. Don't get me wrong, EVE online is a phenomenon, and a masterpiece of social engineering and all (though personally I have no interest in it, or any other MMO), but CCP is pretty much holding all its eggs in one basket with it. Paradox, otoh, does various things. Not all are good, mind, but given we haven't had a WoD game since Bloodlines (2003, was it?), I'd say with Paradox there's a greater chance of something intersting happening with the IP.
At the very least, Paradox is much more likely to put Bloodlines on GOG. Which'd be a win in its own right.

The new dialogue system for Fallout 4 makes me a lot less excited for the game. To the point where I suspect I will wait until the price drops before buying it. Well, I guess I'll be more social in december than I planned.

The Boone Mod will fix this by amending every dialogue option to "My wife is dead".

Just got Destiny pre owned for £15.
Hope my internet connection holds up to it.
Also Darksouls 2. Was tempted by bloodbourne.
Basically want to find a game or two that will get me to sit in for a few nights, therefore actually justify the ps4 on the flimsy reasoning I purchased it nearly a year ago

I think Call of Duty is dying on the PC. At least here in Europe.
I played some yesterday on the launch day and have been playing on and off all day today.
You some times have to wait minutes just to fill a Team Death Match game. Ground War, one of the most popular modes traditionally, is really hard to get a full server for.
How are there so few players the first weekend of a COD launch? What the hell?!

My guess is because the majority of Call of Bullets players are now 12 year olds who play on console only.

Yeah the 99 hours was a false alarm, paused and resumed as suggested, finished up in about 2/3 hours.
Destiny is brilliant, graphics are excellent (not something I really care about, but its nice) already like it considerably more than Far Cry 4, which I traded in to buy destiny, can see this ticking the box of getting me to sit in rather than going to pub on a Friday night, thus making the ps4 value for money

Does the guy they got to replace Peter Dinklage's voice sound alright?
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.
