Are any of you guys of the opinion that with the Star Wars IP that you are watching a variation on the same thing over and over? Basically watching the same movie again when they release something 'new' ?

Star Wars Battlefront 2 was so terrible. The entire collection and progression of RPG elements were designed explicitly around loot boxes.

Never played a Star Wars game, don't plan to. I remember reading about that loot box fiasco; people were pissed off. I just think that trailer for theTRoS tie-in drives home the point that most of what is sold under the Star Wars brand is not very original. It seems to rehash the same bits over and over, with just a slight variation. Very boring if you ask me. Sells toys (glowing plastic dildos and baby dolls) for the booger eaters though, so they got that market cornered. Kudos to them for figuring that out, I guess.

I have nothing but praise for Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Academy, X-Wing vs TIE-Fighter and Knights of the Old Republic.
I have nothing but complete fanboyism for Knights of the Old Republic 2.
A can only recommend giving at least one class a full vanilla storyline playthrough in The Old Republic MMO.

Wouldn't know about the others.

Republic Commando was great too, especially if you're looking for something that is more 'original' in the SW franchise (although I would argue that those who buy Star Wars games aren't necessarily looking for something that feels different to Star Wars!). I've just started playing Fallen Order and so far so pretty good too.

Also the Lego Star Wars games are the hands-down best game version of the film plots :)

Hey I just finished BotW, and its titles rolled, got a final cut scene, and then.. no option to continue? I kind of assumed I'd be able to carry on after Ganon was gone, but my last save is the auto before I beat him. Is that right?

Cheers apt. Bit of a bummer to beat a boss and just get plonked back in front of it like you never did it though! Like, exactly the same as if you just got killed by it.

Anyway he was easy enough, I guess I'll go exploring again, haven't finished everything. Just went into the castle to have a look about and sort of ended the game.

I want that bike from the dlc anyway.

Steam and Epic sales are live.

Epic is giving a 10$ off coupon for any game that's worth over 15 bucks. Everytime you buy one of those games, you get another coupon.

I'm getting a copy of Borderlands 3 for EGS with my new CPU, anyway (the choice is between Borderlands 3 and outer Worlds, and I'm also getting 3 months of GamePass for free) , so I'm probably gonna pick up a few puzzle games to add to my EGS collection of free games.

The Best Video Games Of The Decade (2010 - 2019)

Damn I played a lot of these.

One I think is worth mentioning because I don't think I've seen it discussed here is Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons. If that game doesn't hit you in the feelz you may need someone to rush you to the emergency room to check if you have a pulse.

Oh snap, I would be remiss if I didn't give Far Cry 3 a mention. That game had one of the most batshit crazy bad guys ever in game, bar none. And then the release of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon stand alone DLC that released right after. That took the batshit crazy to new levels. I still chuckle remembering every time killing someone and hearing the phrase 'douche shitter'. You know, Far Cry 3 and the Blood Dragon DLC is the only Far Cry I've played? I wanted to carry on with the titles that followed, but most reviews were critical, saying it was getting stale and doing nothing new. Maybe one day I'll try the titles that came out after 3.

Also, I need to mention Journey. Damn, that was singularly, one of the most unique gaming experiences to be had. So good.
