They said that the games that Sony are hosting the servers for will be PS+ multiplayer, and the servers for games the publishers are hosting won't be. Like Planetside 2 and DC:O, from what I've heard.

Also, remember this: $749 NZD (590.89 USD) for the Xbone? The £429 price for the UK works out to $666, so suck it (the PS4 price is $399+shipping to everyone in the world where is my money Sony)
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Never mind the price of the console, that's a one-off. It's the constant $50 or so extra we pay for the games that sucks! XD

(And who cares how much the X1 is going to cost - not buying one, lolololol).

That is a point, though. Microsoft have sharted themselves so badly that the only thing Sony's done has literally been to charge for some online multiplayer, and they've basically won this console generation barring some huge fuckup on their part.

I got some friends to join up with the recent pre-expansion sale of Civ 5. We've done a couple of rounds of mulitplayer, and it's brilliant. Sure, I typically have the television on in the background, but the trash talking alone is enough to keep me entertained between rounds

Ps+ is the best thing ever, especially if you have a vita. I can't keep up with it. I have not one time said "well, looks like I am out of free games to play."

This, this right here was awesome news. This allows games like DUST 514 to eventually head over to the PS4 and remain a free to play online game, even if you don't have a PS+ membership. Which is fantastic :p
It also confirms my educated theory that they are making the charging switch to pay for servers to help make PSN a better online system with more to offer. And it fits nicely with their mandate to allow indie devs to self publish. This way if they want to make an indie multiplayer game they don't need to raise capital for the servers :p

I have been playing some Saints Row 3 co-op with Centz on and off recently and it is hilarious. It helps that I am using the character I finished the game with, so I have all the shit which I can used to arse around with (though there are a few things I am not bringing out yet as they'd be spoilers for Centz who hasn't finished it before).
Fun times :p

I could do with some basic help.

Ive just moved into my new place and the tv which is a fairly new flat screen is very blurry making the writing on any game I play fuzzy. Its also 'zoomed in' for lack of a better word and I cant see the map at the top of the screen when I play Skyrim for example.

Thanks for the help.

Have you checked the remote for a view change/zoom/smart zoom? I use the zoom when I'm watching blu-ray to eliminate the black letterbox bars.

No blurry writing on games though.. you might have a menu somewhere that changes the resolution?
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Yeh I was thinking that but its only games nothing else like dvds or anything. I might try fiddling with the scart lead in the back to see if that works.

Uhm. That underline, right there, might well be your problem. If you mean a literal SCART connection, then that is purely standard def and *completely* obsolete. Skyrim probably isn't designed with that plug in mind. Frankly, I'd be amazed to find any TV or computer which has a genuine SCART plug on it, these days....

Try upgrading to HDMI? XD

If you just meant the cable in the back, and used SCART as a generic term, ignore the above, but otherwise... >.>

@ Worry - let me know how the external HD works out - I have the newish 4 GB unit and it doesn't have room enough for even some game saves, so I need more. The ones I have seen for sale online are rather expensive, I should have just bought the bigger model to begin with

HiddenOne, did you purchase a HD? It appears the extra HDs for Slims are actually attached almost like a cartridge you push in, not an external attached via USB as I first thought. You just wanna make sure that a slot for one exists by opening up a right-side tabbed panel on the Slim. And as far as I can tell the original 4GB is wholly internal and you don't have to swap it out for the new HD, swapping/transferring data only becomes an issue if you get multiple big extra HDs.

Anyway, my old style HD arrived today, it was refurbished MS brand, and it's basically plug and play after downloading updates and my profile. The only foreseeable issue would be hardware failure.

Game play demo of Watch Dogs on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. This game is going to be the bee's knees.

Started playing Metro Last Light. I'm really liking it so far, the atmosphere is great. There were several moments in which I was so glad an NPC was with me since I was creeped out by my surroundings. The ammount of detail put into the game is very nice. I also found out the games based on a back. I think I'll have to track it down and read it.

Finally got around to New Vegas for a bit, picked it up in a Steam sale a while back so walking outside and getting all the DLC in one go was a bit silly. Haven't played FO3 in literal years so this should be fun.

...I think I'm going to be sick. XD That is a really old, outdated plug everywhere in the world! Go HDMI cable (if your TV has the connection in the back for it), if you're running from a computer, then maybe DVI port is also an option (just Google them for pics/descriptions). If you don't have those ports, you're kinda stuck with fuzzy/terrible/standard definition output from the SCART. You might be able to get component A/V too, so check that out. It all depends on which connections you have between Device A and TV A, really...

After a quick google I discover why my old xbox worked fine on a similar tv and this one doesnt. The old one had a HDMI cable but xbox stopped putting them in theiir new elite 360 bundles. Its the first time ive checked the back of the tv for a while and that it why I was relying on the old scart which still comes with the 360.

Mystery solved

Thanks Silencer for the help and judgement :p

I thought that but when I looked into it the taking away of the HDMi cable coincided with the $100 price drop of the elite. So penny pinching really. Though I would have thought theyd have left it in as if someone bought there machine and the quality was subpar it would result in bad reviews/feedback? Though by this point the 360 had been out for a good while so they it may not have been a factor.

In other queries and seen as you know alot about this kind of stuff over on the 'making a total war mod for malaz' thread there is a warhammer mod for medieval 2 it looks like. Would I be able to play that on my laptop that comfortably plays medieval 2? Just a thought as I am craving a total war fix but cant quite bring myself to play Medieval 2 as the diplomacy is awful.

Most likely you would be able to play the mod, yeah. Unless it had super-high texture models and maps, but that is unlikely. If you can play the main game comfortably, I'd say 90% chance the mod will work just as well. :p

And that is indeed an odd place to tighten the belt. I mean, my original 360 came with no HDMI port at all, but it still had component A/V cable which, while not quite HDMI, is still a far cry from the quality of SCART! I can't imagine they'd even save much money going for a SCART connection over HDMI - HDMI cables aren't exactly expensive, and SCART must be bloody hard to source these days, unless they had a massive pile of old cables lying around...still seems counterintuitive as people buying the console would probably expect HD graphics...bleargh, guess we'll never know. XD At least the issue is solved now! :p
