For the PS3? Yes, as I believe the original Mass Effect was never released as a standalone (except for a digital download on PSN) for the PS3. But essentially each game is exactly the same as the seperately-sold versions.

Yeah, price-wise it's probably best. Disappointingly, it doesn't include all of the Mass Effect 2 DLC, so I would probably wait until you can get it on sale for $30 so that you can purchase Kasumi/Arrival/Overlord/Lair of the Shadow Broker. While the DLCs aren't essential to the Mass Effect 2 experience, they do play a role in Mass Effect 3. Kasumi adds a new character, Overlord is fun and helps explain an aspect of one of 3's major plots, Lair of the Shadow Broker is amazing and some things in 3 will come completely out of the blue if you don't play it, and without Arrival your situation at the start of Mass Effect 3 won't make any sense.

Looks like they're taking a leaf out of the DmC/Dante re-design book. Well, at least by common consensus, that one turned out to be a pretty fine game (I haven't played it yet myself).

You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Why take something that was good because of its distinctive look and gameplay, and instead of creating a new story, they overhaul it to make it look like everything else currently on the market?

'Thief' was good because Garrett was a regular man with skills in a specific field, who would avoid confrontation at all costs - now he looks like an assassin/superhero/vampire...thing.

I was looking forward to another 'Thief' game, too.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Just completed Mass Effect 2. Doing a paragon playthrough of the series this time around. Definitely a one time thing, it really just doesn't fit with how I play/imagine Shepard. Normally I'm about 75% renegade 25% paragon - I don't let anything stand in the way of completing the mission, I kill people who deserve to die, but I don't kill innocents as long as it can be avoided and I'm a good friend with all my team mates. Basically, I'm ruthless to my enemies and a great friend to my, er, friends.

I'll have to wait until I've beaten the 3rd in again, but I think 2 is my favorite in the series. It took the seeds of greatness that existed in the first game and turned them into something truly awesome. The loyalty missions are, for the most part, great, and all of the insight into the galaxy is wonderful. You also can't complain about having 12 squad members.

The game still has its flaws, mainly lame ass assignments that are only slightly less boring than the ones in Mass Effect 1 (at least you don't have to explore random planet #200 for generic bunker 1, 2, or 3 in this one), and the final boss fight is quite lacking. Still, great game.

The Suicide Mission is one of the great levels of gaming history I think. The choices you make feel important, have real consequences and sometimes quite an emotional impact. And the music is fantastic.

Shame about the last boss though, but you can't have it all I guess.

The suicide mission is the second best mission in existance (right after the Shalebridge Cradle), I'll agree, and the team in ME2 is fucking awesome, too. It was also the first game where you got to see and meet the underbelly of the ME galaxy. ME1 was more Star Trek, ME2 was more Alien, when it comes to climate. Which is great for both games.

Also, I liked the random planet #200 generic bunker missions in the Mako :wub: I really missed that in ME2 and ME3. I just like exploring ^_^

Been playing Medieval 2. First playthrough and enjoying nearing the end now just one more province and to kill off the Mongols and ill have the entire world.

I have a battle now and everytime I go down into the battle map and click on start battle the game stops and tells me its encountered an unexpected ewrror. this hasnt happened before and now everytime for this particular battle its crashing. Has anyone else had this?

Also im thinking about playing the copy of RE6 for xmas but the reviews ive had from people who played it are putting me off

RE6? It's actually surprisingly fun! I've been playing it on the PS3 with my girlfriend and we're terrible but it's fun in a dumb way. Also they've patched a lot of issues out.

Really? Im not a RE fan but I bought a gamecube a while ago and got RE4 which was the first RE ive seriously played and it was fantastic. I put RE6 in this morning and its all sorts of average, plays like a rail shooter and has put me off again. Ill replay it when I get in but im a bit meh atm.

Hopefully it picks up

OH, RE4 is probably the best in the series, squeaky midget Napoleons aside, but I still enjoyed RE6. Never played RE5 so can't compare.

I really hope that this is just people trying to get publicity/build bad will toward the next Xbox before it's officially announced in April. If this turns out to be true, I'll definitely be sticking with the PS4 (and the Wii U once the next Xeno game comes out).

Actually there are reports that the PS4 will have the same always online and installation required that have been 'reported' for the Xbox Infinity or Xbox Loop, whichever it's going to be.
