I have a great idea -

we need everyone to cross post with each other. This will do 2 things. It will cause our 2 alted player to be outed, and spam the shit out of the thread.

You might want to wait until everyone has checked in at least. I would bet that if one person is controlling 2 alts, one of them hasn't spoken up yet, and one of them probably has.

Yep, and that only works if the person controlling 2 alts is trying to actively do it. They may try to not make it obvious. Plus, if the individual opens 2 browsers and types like a demon, you may have a nearly impossible way of catching them.

Even if you did catch them, no guarantee they are not on your team!

The factions to seem very role centric, but I agree, it's difficult to pin down exactly what roles each faction might have.

It seems to me the only people who are likely to stand out with regards to what happens in thread are the chinese, since they need to make sure they have a vote down on someone at the end of the day. But then the other factions should try do the same thing counter them.

Thats not how I read that - I read it as - Chinese want to have the most votes on a lynch and/or other players. Meaning that they would all want to have a vote on at the end of the day (either on or off the train). Or is that what you just said, but in a different way?

That's pretty much what I thought I said... IF the chinese do in fact have a larger team their conditions will be difficult to block without them losing players early game. Unless of course they have a small team with lots of survival based powers (BPs, deflections etc), but we are talking bout the chinese...

I think before anyone hammers, they should give other players who are willing to hammer a chance to put a vote down on someone random to try counteract this. Or we should all try randomly vote if we know we will be away from the thread, in case there is a lynch in our abscence.

That said I'm off for a little while...

vote Ruse

since his is the first name that came to mind.

Anyway, early guess is:

Americans - 4
Chinese - 5
EU - 3
Japanese - 2
Russians - 3
Syndicate - 5

The Chinese having 5 makes it ridiculously easy to achieve their higher-overall-level win-condition. 2 for the Japs seems a bit rough too, and makes their 5-point VC very easy as well.

Heres a question.

Are we voting to lynch today? I am not sure which way to play is best right now. Day 1 - we know very little if anything about the inner workings of each team. (I am being very lose on the wording here so as not to give any info out about myself, so bare with me). However, if we want to level quickly ( like the Chinese) we want as many posts and kills as we can get. THEREBY (heh) by not lynching, we reduce the threat of the Chinese getting points somewhat.

And I might venture to guess that the Russians, who want to all be alive at the end of the game, have the dummy alt. Either them or the syndicate.

this - AND your math needs 1 more in it, 23 alts (regardless of player count, the extra alt still belongs on a team right?)

Well, it all depends on how fast we want to level... there seems to be a general consensus to hit Level 1 by the end of the day. If we lynch someone today, then if one person gets NKd tonight, we get to potentially hit Level 3 by the end of tomorrow (3 total deaths, assumes we spam tomorrow, too).

If we aren't concerned with Leveling TOO fast, then we can probably not lynch and then see what happens tomorrow.

In Spycraft 1, there weren't any NKs until night 3, so there's no guarantee that a lynch today will even affect hitting Level 3 tomorrow.

We reduce that threat for one day. They're still getting points every other day. And I don't get your logic. The Chinese win by having the highest level combined, so we reduce their threat by raising the levels?

That said, I don't think we should be focusing on hampering any one faction too much. Tellann's voting idea has some merit (i.e. have everyone lay down a vote on anyone) for limiting the Chinese, but we have to be focused on catching the scum, and lynching is our main weapon in that regards. Besides, NKs were rare in the early game of the first IIRC, so if we don't lynch, we might have little to go off tomorrow. But feel free to convince me otherwise. :D

ETA - 'of the first'

I'd tweak this a bit, the Brits only had 2 in a faction last game and there were less people. Their chances of winning were slim to none after 1 random NK, I don't think Tapper would repeat that mistake. Maybe take away a chinese and and give it to the JP

No - by not lynching day 1 we reduce the amount of kills by one - making them wait an extra day (or kill) to level.
