Just to throw this out there, the people in the car aren't just "foreign spies", they are "decadent foreign spies." Now, to every nationality, the others will be "foreign." The decadent part is seemingly unnecessary. So, it is there for a purpose. What nationality would say the others are "decadent?" I'm going with the Chinese. Communism, you know.

Americans aren't decadent? :) Could be just creative license too.

That's the point. Why would the Old guy call the "foreign spies" decadent? Could be creative license. Could be a nod to Chinese communism.

Because he's a Japanese nationalist who disapproves of Western culture? I don't know, I don't think we should be reading too much into a single word in a scene. Even Tapper said we're analysing them too much already.

Tapper wants to fuck with our heads. :)

Also, my Japanese knowledge is not so good. I'll take it as a possibility, too.

To my mind, both Japanese and Chinese spies would describe all other nationalities as decadent. Look at Tapper, she's European and decadent.

Positively spoiled, aye.

Well there's not a lot of time left and we've had some good discussion, but I don't think that we have a good case. So does anyone else have a decent look to examine?

I've not really changed my mind about D'riss and Liosan. I had some thoughts this week-end and I wrote them down but I'm having enough problems withdrawing information from simple text so my notes are not a tempting thought.

I'm pretty neutral on Liosan, I always seem to forget that alt is playing, it's usually not a high poster.

The only thing that bothers me about D'riss right now is the rapid drop of her case on Ruse for Rashan when he started to get some attention, but before he got any real votes. That, to me, looks like someone that knows their team pretty well.

My argument about whether or not we are scum is based on if we ignore nationality.

There two possibly results when we die it is either we are lynched it can be assumed that we are either scum or spy.

Ok symps come up inno but they are a bit of a non factor when working out worst case scenario for how many scum they are as he have to assume until evidence suggests otherwise that they were inno.

If we go on nationality however, then knowing how many people are in each team, and we argue there is one scum member for each nationality then possibility of them being scum is 1/(remaining players with the same nationality of that player).

But for that to work a full break down of who in what team is needed.

But I think it is too early to take into account nationality as we don't have all the relevant info to do such probability densities. Also revealing such information at too early a stage if you have it, means that some players may start going for other teams, to position their teams in an attempt get first place in a inno victory.

I have a couple of things on Liosan, but it's less evidence and this stage and more speculation at alignment based on ratios of type of content and a few odd posts in both Galain cases, Barghast speculation and when he was arguing with Ruse.

Personally I dont see why anyone would want to mess with the votes of people on their own team - wouldnt just asking them to change vote (since they would know the person is on your team, I assume they can talk too) draw way less attention?

I would think it's a targetted thing and my instinct says that it would belong to scum.

I think Rashan is bald, because his voted got messed with twice and the bald dude got messed with twice (based on the assumption that the man on the phone is the same guy, phoning the same guy in both scenes. Seems likely). Meanas got messed with once, white suit got messed with once. So based on one assumption, the numbers make a fair bit of sense.

The fact that a bald guy is also a lover with likely syndidate candidate ciggie lady, and present in the car to kyoto does complicate things a bit more. Either there are two bald guys (there are two cat burglar looking ladies, so it's possible) or whoever is the bald guy talking to the cigarette lady doesnt want to reveal - meaning likely to be scum. In which case the person manipulating the votes possibly isnt scum, or accidently ended up targetting his teamate.

Couple of assumptions in there, but that's how I'm seeing that whole situation at the moment.

Which makes me wonder - Rashan, if you had to take a wild, crazy, guess that could in no way be construed as a reveal as to the identity of the cigarette lady, what would you say?

Aren't you the drama queen.

I've stated I find you suspicious because of how smooth your play is. It's certainly not a great case, but if I were to follow my gut right now my vote would be for either you or d'riss.

It's not a coherent case at this point, so no. Maybe tomorrow.

You know, that's actually borderline brilliant. We know the phone man ("Old Man" also, in the first scene) forced two votes and Rashan had two votes forced (or removed by force). So it would hint that maybe the Bureaucrat who forced White Suit (Meanas)'s vote is the scum player, and there's plenty of evidence to support that.

Keep in mind that the "Old Man" met up with the Bald man later on... so it's possible the old man couldn't communicate in person for a while and had to use the phone.

But that would mean that the Bald Man has possibly infiltrated the Old Man's faction... since he appears to team up with the Smoker Woman at one point and the Old Man + Porcelain woman at another point.
