My comment about the barghast alt is that it was a second alt for a player, not that it was a dummy alt.
Ok I argued against lynching the low posters as at the time of that discussion I only had three posts and would have been the automatic conclusion. The votes for me wouldn't have been about what I posted was scummy but the fact that I was lagging behind due to the fact that I wasn't on the web until then.
My comment is that people spamming heavily in this game are desperate to get to those upper power levels, the sort of thing that comes to mind is kills and vigs, ok they may be a spy team or they could be syndicate.
Now my vote for Rashan, maybe it partly due to that there been more discussion and less spam, but 23 posts out of his 36 were made on this game day, that 63% of his current posts were made on day 3. To fully clarify this though day 3 did include Thursday, Friday and monday to 20 posts isn't that huge a shift but it puts him nine names up the list so he is less liely to attract attention to himself. But his posts have been consistant I don't see anything wrong with them so if he scum, well played sir.
remove vote
Also I don't care for speed lynching when we still have the time.

That's a good point about Rashan.
When we speak of lynching low posters, and then someone more than doubles their post count.. hmmmmmmm

The only explanation is that day 3 has been longit had a bit of thursday that when I voted for him as it was thursday night for me. Game was Frozen sometime friday and it been continued today. If he has around 8 posts each day it not that dodgy, It fairly easy to do, but if the 23 posts are within a small amount of time it should be worth considering.

The last 16 posts of Rashan were made today, 1.27am-2.44am. That 77 mins He made 16 posts, he made 44% of his posts in 77 minutes today, he has been with us since the start of this game in day 1.
Right since the game started today and Rashan left there was an extra 32 posts made before he disappeared 16 of those posts were him. There were a few PS posts in that 32. He really driving the thread for that time when he is on today with just the post count.

Hey, hey.
Checking in. Busy day. I'm all caught up and I agree that Shadow's vote was probably the scummiest thing to happen today, though Galain not knowing the difference between nationality and alignment is a little hard to swallow.
So I used all my time reading and now I've got to go to a meeting. I'll be back before the day times out if you need my vote. And remember to be careful about getting someone up into the L-3, L-4 range.
Sorry I couldn't contribute more... next couple days are gonna be pretty tight for me, as well, but I'll do my best.

Can anyone else suggest someone else apart from shadow or Galain.
I say Rashan but there nothing scummy in what he said when I read over them, just how many posts he contributed in so short a time compared to what the rest of his posting rate.

Silanah had brought up Gaylord for always following someone ( Shadow or Emur I think). But other than that no one has really brought up other possibilities.
The interruption from Weekend/forums down has put kind of a rush on today and I think ppl are trying to get there votes on while they know they can.

I can go either way Galain or Mockra, but while I don't get a scummy vibe from Galain, just dim.. Shadow does give off a slightly scummy vibe. Am I confident with either? nope. But of the 2 I think Shadow is the more likely scum. hence the vote.

Ok after going through the last day or so, im definitely leaning towards Shadow, some of his posts actually made me stop and go wtf and il see if i can go back and find some of them in a minute as i think Sil might have missed a few of them in his case.
Galain im not sure about, he's had some very strange posts as well, but whereas Shadow seems to be giving off a very dodgy vibe all im getting from Galain is that he's a bit confused about basic information and hasnt been reading everything very carefully so im more inclined to believe that hes an inno whos in a bit over his head right now.
@Sheltatha In regards to looking for low posters who've suddenly upped their contributions in regards to Korvs lynch id say that Meanas is a very obvious choice in that regards, as iirc he came on soonish after the Korv lynch and basically ranted that we shouldnt be going for low posters (like him) but should be lynching the spammers.
So for now

Just getting back. I still feel that Shadow is jumping on the easy lynch by going after someone who clearly had no concept the game. Yeah, his bad for being a dolt and not reading the rules right, but I just get the feeling he was confused. Shadow jumping on him, otoh, seems like a play scum would make, to go after the easy lynch. I think his willingness to just jump from Kaschan, to galain once he smelled galain's weakness is the sign of a hunter.

IF anything to get a lynch but also to see what some pressure on him wil do.
We have had a decent train/case going on galain already...i would like to see what a train on Shadow brings out this time.

I'm back and around for a little bit. I have to agree with Eloth there. When everyone has a NA then its easier to sit back and wait till Night and then see what happens. Of course with the spam required for the leveling as well a lot of posts are well just spam, and going back to reread players is hard work.
Also the forum has been down an aweful lot and its been a bit of stop start affair as well. Its still early in the game though 21 players left! Not including Barghast. I guess we need to spend some time going back and looking at people tomorrow, there's a lot of people whose posts I don't recall. Apparently a lot of them are PS...
Anyway, looking over Silanah's case its actually not too bad all things considered. Especially since Shadow was pushing that lynch after Korv had actually returned and had given some usual infomation. Which is strange really since why would you push a lynch against a potential finder? The Korvalain lynch happened too quickly really.
I've certainly seen worse cases, and unfortunately its looking like its either me or Shadow at this point and I won't be around for the lynch itself.

Cool, weekend break is over, mafia goodness can resume.
I feel a lot better about a Shadow lynch than a Galain lynch myself - Galain struck me as confused more than anything else, and unlikely to be syndicate. Shadow on the other hand seemed to be going after what looked like an easy lynch on someone who is also unlikely to be syndicate.
After yesterday, I'm a little hesitant to put down a vote in case the day ends early again, but with four votes down at the moment, I think we should still be safe.

As for people's contributions, I think it's very difficult to judge people by post count alone. The amount of catching up required tends to infringe on posting time, plus there's still so many people - I think a lot of people feel safer just lurking until they have a better idea of what is going on.

As for the cases, I've never been a fan of lynching for lack of reading comprehension. In low complexity games I'm inclined to think that scum feel less need to learn every twist and turn of the rules and as such mistakes like that can be signs of alignment. However, in a game such as this it seems weird to jump on someone for mistaking one of a hundred rules.

Ok, so all of you people posting about 'Shadow going for an easy lynch' (Fener, Eloth, Olar, Tellann, HP) and 'just to see if we can get a lynch' (Fener, Eloth) strikes me as very strange. 7 votes in 20 minutes? And without even a defense from Shadow himself? If that's not 'jumping on the easy lynch' I have no idea what is. I'd also like so see some actual questioning of the case and not just saying 'it's not very solid' before it gets a lynch too, since that's hardly a constructive comment (Eloth, Galain, Olar), and could easily be construed as coasting. Also, are people even wanting to look at other people? I understand it's a bit of a bitch to read through posts and there are a lot of people, but with the search feature, and the fact that half of them are spam, it really doesn't amount to much, especially in the cases of the lower-mid range of posters like Tellann or Ruse. It's only about 5-10 posts all up for them, and you don't have to read multiple people. Just read one person.

Look at the time stamps
Me, Olar, Eloth, Galain all posted within 5 minutes so are very likely cross posts. Especially as he had only 2 votes when i voted. The rest ill agree with but i think there was a lot of cross posting involved

I realise there was a bit of cross-posting involved, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of voting for Shadow 'going for the easy lynch' when that was but one facet of my case, and when no one has even bothered to question it so far. I mean, even I can see parts of it that are probably a little bit straw-manning, but most people have just followed along, going for the easy option in Shadow.

I think I had forgotten this one:
"Excuse me, madam, but I couldn't help but notice how you sat here all by your lonesome self. As someone who is in the same position, would you mind if I joined you?" Without waiting for an answer, he put his bags on the floor and stretched his legs - quite shapely ones, actually - over the armrest.
"That depends on what your intentions are," she said, sitting a bit more upright. He's cute, she thought.
"Just conversation," he said. "I hate flights."
"It's just a short hop," she said, wishing she had applied another whiff of perfume in the bathroom ten minutes ago.
"I know, but I do a lot of those."
"Work?"
"sadly, yes."
"What do you do?"
"I'm a model. Runways, magazines, adverts. They need a face, they call me."
"Is that the life it is made out to be?" she said, putting her laptop down.

I will say, I didn't see Serc's vote when I posted my vote. Also, I didn't even comment on your case Sil. I am voting because Galain started in on his 'Kill Kaschan!" diatribe, then when he found a weaker player, he switched to him under the guise of "If you didn't read the rules you must be scum" That to me seems scummy, and thats why I am voting.
At the time of these votes there was only 4 hours left in the day. While the votes did come in quick succession, what do you want people to do? wait till 30 minutes left? I suppose I could have as I am going to be around all day, but ppl don't revolve their lives around Mafia. ( though maybe they should
)
I find it odd, that the person that made the case, is suddenly back tracking when it gathers steam. Would you have done the same rehash on votes if 5 people had come and jumped on Galain? We have to choose someone, and the clock is ticking.

EDIT - fixed quote tags
How was Shadow the easy option when the vote count at the start of the cross posting, was 4-2 in favor of Galain?

Yeah you didn't actually, sorry Olar, was just going off memory there.
I'm not backtracking (I still have my vote on don't I?), and I probably would have if they were so close together. You've seen my incessant quoting, don't tell me you think I wouldn't.

Mostly because it was an actual case, and the case on Galain was mainly 'he said there were PIs, even though there aren't'.
EDIT - and voting on actual evidence is far less suspicious than what really amounts to what I see as semantic confusion.

I agree with being careful towards the end. But There was a span of literally 5 minutes where 5 votes came it. If they had been spaced out more over say an hr, rather than 5 minutes, I would be much more suspicious of how the train had formed. As for looking scummy, I would find pile on votes much more scummy than someone who makes a reasonable case and happened to be wrong. But thats just how I view things. ( Mostly because my well thought out reasonable cases are ALWAYS wrong
)
