Not talking to you, Just agreeing with Ruse that we can't dismiss Barghy as being at least associated with or a tool of the Syndicate.

Here is Mockra's last post.
I already agreed with that. It's a thread decision to make. I'm not entirely sure we want to push it today since we did get an early/free level.

She put on a tiny silver chain, and smoothed the light yellow skirt of the high necked dress she was wearing. Then, she turned to the microphone. "Ladies and gentlemen of Radio Tokyo, thank you for granting me the opportunity for a short radio interview. Our ministry of national security appreciates the opportunity to broadcast our views. It is their opinion that the Americans, the Chinese and the Europeans are currently matched in at least one objective, and competition is fierce.
The Americans, the Chinese and the Europeans have currently satisfied their 7 point victory conditions.

He put his leather jacket on, secured the pearl gripped Desert Eagles in their holsters under either armpit, and picked up the sledgehammer, which he put in the back of the Toyota SUV. Tonight, he'd take on all comers, and show them that some things can not happen as long as one man stands in their way.

Oh, good catch. I was wondering why P-S edited his innocuous post.
And Lio, obviously it's not another player who had to wait 2 days to come in and play, but Barg could easily be a tool of the syndicate in some manner. You seemed to be trying to convince us that syndicate was powerful enough already, which was a strange thing to imply, given the number of night kills and how many people are playing the game.

So would anyone think that Barghast entry may be a teams need reinforcement ability?

That is a good catch.
It could be a Syndicate dummy alt, as I mentioned it could be a specific teams ability (as opposed to multinational) to have dummy alts. I then went with gut and threw out the Japanese as a possibility.

None of these are surprising. The EU has the lead thanks to lover comm's, and thus the 7 pointer as well. The Americans have the most investigations, and I'm sure Korv had something to do with that. And, the Chinese have voted the most. So.... that plan isn't working quite as well as before. Evidently they got the majority of the votes on the Korv train.

Is this the same guy we have seen as being "retaliatory" before? The language is fairly similar. Toyota could indicate possibly being Japanese, as well.

That additional level may have been from one of the deaths counting as two, a characters passive rather then an ability by someone else, in which case the action wouldn't show up in a scene. I am not sure a saw one likely to be this action but ill take another look.

could be a players 2nd alt, not just a team.
That's what I mean when I say "team's ability". That one of the common team abilities is to have individual dummy alts for players, like the EU is lover happy. The second time was worded more poorly than the first time I stated it.

Also the additional alt may belong to the same person as the first alt, that may seem op but it doesn't seem like barg is a fully functional alt.
It could by a puppet master class of something.

So If barghast was a team reinforcement I would see one of the surviving players in that team being given that role, so just try and see who barghast matches in that scenario. Also I think in this scenario to keep track the guy will alternate between the two alts.
If the guy is smart he may try two at once but it could lead to him fumbling by answering a question posed to his other alt. So there shouldn't be any crossposting between the two alts.
My suggestion is wait and see if barghast posts or not.

I have only got a few minutes and am very confused. I thought the seven pointer's where totalled at the end of the game?
The chonese vc -7 points: Having cast the most votes of all teams (EU, US, Syndicate, Japanese, Russians). Votes are counted at the end of the day only.
So this only relates to a single days action? I cannot remmeber it working like that in the last game. Also the new alt, which cannot be voted for or vote itself seems totally pointless.

I wonder if the new alt can be night killed?
I see no point in acknowledging his presence otherwise.

Okay, so ... wtf?
That was a pretty ridiculous readthrough if you ask me.
I think that we had either two forced votes or one forced vote and a double-vote ability, but it's hard to really say which since only one of the two scenes posted definitively indicates a forced vote. Given the way that the scene is written, however, I'd argue that the forced voter and the one who used the action are of the same nationality / team.
As for Barghast, I think it's there as nothing but a distraction or possibly as something with a roled ability. Since we can neither vote for it nor be voted by it, I think the best idea is to wait like Meanas has suggested.

Plus, the appearance of Barghast was tied to this scene:
Which seems to feature the same smoking woman as in this scene:
Who, from that description, could be a syndicate member. Obviously there's a lot of ambiguity, so I find it curious that people are being so quick to write off the possibility of Barghast having something to do with the syndicate.

She lit one cigarette with the stump of another, and had been doing that since breakfast. The local muscle had been bent carefully to her needs, and was now hers to command. It is good to have friends in high places... and dangerous. A nod sent one of them on his way. Expendable cannon fodder, and while the one he was to chase was not much to look at, neither was she, and look at how that played out. She blew three smoke circles. Fuck, another pack emptied.

I had suggested that this was a syndicate action before but I think only Galain agreed. It seems likely to me. Also it looks like a finder investigated the chess player and they were the second character i had marked down as possible syndicate so it will be interesting to see if someone comes forward about them.

Here's an idea: Barghast can potentially contribute to the winning condition of having one person left at the end of the game for spies. That's the only other plausible use/advantage I can think of since Barghast is disconnected from all voting mechanisms.
