Man, that was some good stuff.

Whoever wrote that screenplay is either a genius or f'ed up in the head, it was awesome.

I dont know how i'm still surprised by how great an actor Leo is, but he's just flat friggin great in everything he's in.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

He ruined Gangs of New York and I wasn't fond of him in the Departed either.

I have a love hate relationship with the guy. His movies are almost often great films, but when ever I see him I just think, there's Dicaprio dressed up as a policeman or an aviator or a hudlum, or what ever. His face and voice has this annoying thing about them, like he still hasn't gone out of his teens.

Your opinion is wrong. Wrong I say! He was the best part of Departed. I'll admit that GoNY wasn't as good, but then again he was playing against one of the titans in Daniel Day-Lewis.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Marky Mark was the best part of Departed. I could watch a 120 minute film with nothing but him insulting everyone and everything.

The problem with Gang of New York was that the character Dicaprio played was a fucking wuss. And it was so fucking stupid when Day Lewis supposedly disfigured him and all that he'd done was give him a scar on his fucking cheek. I completely gave up around then. Also, as much as I love Cameron Diaz, she was an annoying romantic lead in that story.

The Funky Bunch was outstanding in Departed, but he wasn't in the film enough to compare to the others (Damon, DiCaprio, Nicholson).

I still haven't watched that film. I get too embarrassed when he's being retarded.

Going further back, the best movie Dicaprio has ever done is the Basketball Diaries film. I loved that film.

I'll give you Gangs because that movie was just good, but could have been awesome with someone else better for the part opposite Lewis.

But the man was awesome in the Departed, Shutter Island, Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can and the Aviator.

And Basketball Diaries holds nothing on Romeo and Juliet. I loved that damn movie.

Gangs were great, problem was, that DiCaprio´s role was stupid whiner... But main good character was Butcher Bill, wasnt he?:(

I loved "Butcher Bill". That was the first time I ever saw Daniel Day Lewis on film, the first time I can recall anyway. His presence was immense. And even though th character was a violent and racist bastard you couldn't help admire his conviction and strength of character.

Saw it yesterday. Totally enjoyed it. Works on a couple of levels (heehee, see what i did there?) that will let the unwashed masses enjoy it and those with slightly more evolved thinkymeatz still get a cerebral workout.

Female lead was a bit too childlike to be convincing but i suppose that was necessary to keep away even a hint of romantic tension between her and Leo.

Solid cast. Fun action scenes that were deliberately James Bondesque and Matrixy. Some great fx.

Another solid win for Nolan.

- Abyss, must be dreaming.

The quite audible groans in the audience prove to me that Nolan really had a good ending.

Yeah our theater had that too. You know a film works when it generates an audible level of audience reaction in a good way.
