Maybe its only me but it seems like every singal character in the past 3 books just bitches and complains about life and how pointless it all is (besides tehol the awesome). Don't get me wrong I get some characters are going to be bitter and whatnot. It feels like everyone is on the brink of suicide in this book. Anyways just wanted to vent about it thanks for reading

That's quite the overstatement. Some characters do indeed seem on the brink of suicide, but almost everyone? I can't say I agree. Now, this is just off of the top of my head, but:
RG: Beak, Faradan Sort, Hedge, Silchas Ruin, Rud Ellale, Ublala, Shurq, Udinaas (could argue that he's depressed, but I say he just doesn't give a shit). Those are off of the top of my head, the ones that I'm positive weren't majorly emo. Likely many others
TtH: Anomander Rake, Karsa, Samar Dev, Torvald Nom, Rallick, Murillio, Kruppe, Iskaral Pust, Shadowthrone and Cotillion, Kallor, Cutter (I kid). There are also some extremely depressed people in this book, too. For the Andii it makes sense, though, however not fun it is to read about - they've lived for several thousand years and have been abandoned and really have no reason to keep fighting.
DoD: Draconus and Ublala, Brys, Hedge, Olar Ethil...you may have something on this book, my memory fails me at this point. But whatever, there are more. You get my point.
Depression and tragedy are a theme of these books, though. There's a war among the gods going on and many of the characters don't have the slightest idea what they're even getting ready to fight/die for. Also, you have to evaluate these character's lives compared to ours - just look at the amount of hardships, tragedy, and suffering they've had to go through.
Anyway, that's my take on it.

Same! I see most people say he's just a whiney little bitch, but everything he said in RG was so true. I enjoyed his parts in MT, but during RG he was one of my favorites. I hope we see him again sometime.
EDIT: That is, I hope he actually plays a role in things in TCG or a later book, rather than just making a cameo appearance like in DoD.

I think people get annoyed by his puppy love for Feather Witch, as the reader knows how awful she is. I didn't find it off-putting, and afterward he's just absolutely vitriolic in the best way. Cuts through everyone else's crap.

You make lots of good points I didn't really feel like listing 300 names off so I said everyone. It just feels to me like half the book was people thinking super depressing thoughts is all

Awful, really? I thought keeping Brys's severed finger up her snatch was kinda hot.

Hehe, well, we know her feelings towards Udinaas, and people in general. I don't dislike her either, I just think she's cruel.

I think that part was mentioned during BH where she is on the ship with Taxillian.

It was in Reaper's Gale:
"Feather Witch sensed the rebirth of Brys Beddict. She stopped plucking at the strips of skin hanging from her toes, drawing a deep breath as she felt him rushing closer, ever closer. So fast!
Crooning under her breath, she closed her eyes and con¬jured in her mind that severed finger. That fool the Errant had a lot to learn, still. About his formidable High Priestess. The finger still belonged to her, still held drops of her blood from when she had pushed it up inside her. Month after month, like a waterlogged stick in a stream, soaking her up."
Made me put the book down for a minute...

Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Is one less likely to get Toxic Shock Syndrome from a finger than a tampon? Could revolutionize the industry.

That part made me gag
I liked Udinaas in RG, particularly his story about the dark lords under a mountain faking it to lure some heroes in outside the Andara, hilarious.
As for depressing, well I think Bottle makes the point several times that the army they're in is crazed, and eventually all armies turn out that way. Given the situations a lot of the characters are in, lacking a vote in the direction they're being sent, it made sense to be a bit... bitter?

You, sirs - both of you - , speak straight out of my mind. Udinaas is great, certainly one of my favourite characters of all time. I was seriously happy when he had his little camoe in DoD and seriously unhappy, when he just faded out of the story afterwards.
