If you know what 4chan is then you know what /b/ is. Alternately, if you know what a latrine is then you know what /b/ is.

Look who still hasn't had their innocence crushed ... it's like watching a puppy.
I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

There's a thread and quiz for that ...

I have noticed this too. Why do people hate Tumblr? It's just a blogging platform

It's an oddity. There are aspects of Tumblr who have a tendency to be offended by absolutely everything and I think that's the image people have of it - however on a lot of occasions I agree with what Morgoth said and people just don't like having problems with their behaviour pointed out. I use it, the Malazan tag has a nice bunch of people in it, and there is some really in depth stuff in the Tolkien tags too. It's just another site I find geeky things on.

Very vocal aspects with the mentality of wolves gone mad with hunger. I think the reason a lot of people are openly disdainful of those elements is that those elements tend towards extremism. As for Tumblr, I kind of see it as the /b/ of our times. I went on /b/ once. It was deeply unpleasant.

I would think that /b/ is the /b/ of our times.

Whilst /b/ exists the fact that these sweet, innocent children haven't heard of it tells me it is but a shadow of what it once was. I remember it making headline news in the UK once.

/b/ used to be known for child porn and gore to the point where people on their own board stepped in to stop it when it finally got to be too much. I wouldn't consider myself to be what they would call an "oldfag" but i've lurked there for a LONG time. It was never good and it will never BE good. I honestly think the whole "anonymous" movement really killed that place because people thought somehow it was entirely /b/ and they were entirely wrong. On the upside, they love the shit out of cats in that place.
If your cat wasn't meant to fly, why wouldn't they make them bigger?
