Ahh, I somehow missed the bit where you quoted me. And that I can't help you with. I'm a WoT expert, not a mythology expert. I've seen several interviews with RJ where he said Rand had Odin parallels, and I've seen other WoT fans that are more into mythology than me talk about it as well, so I just assumed it was true. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say it's something vague-ish like the stuff in my OP.
I'm writing a theory on the Battle of Caemlyn at the moment. I wish I had more Arthurianlegend-fu, but I have just enough to make the theorizing fun I think.

No problem, I guess I'll have to go hunting. I know only enough about norse mythology to pick up on the obvious stuff. It would be neat to see how deep the rabbit hole really goes.
