I went with Toll the Hounds. Tough call though.

But really, saying TTH is my least favorite Malazan novel is like saying missionary is my least favorite sexual position. Its still awesome.

HoC and NoK, respectively.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Went with Reaper's Gale and The Healthy Dead. 'Least favourite' doesn't mean it's bad though, just means the others are more balls-to-the-wall awesome.

Geez, HoC and NoK have taken commanding leads. Disappointing as I rather liked them both.

It's not like the Barghast have shamans who can heal people like Cafal or anything.

Picking GOTM and Blood Follows because I like the former the least amount (it's still pretty high though) and the latter is the least exceptional short story out of the options I've read. I count NoK as a book, personally.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I'm surprised MT hasn't copped any votes.

...or the wolf gods healed her, but the transition simply isn't that good. A novel should state a reason or hint at it. That doesn't mean I do not love the book, though.

Are we reading the same series?

If Injured Person A meets Magical Healer B and later on becomes Healed Person A, then you don't need a line like 'she was thankful to B for healing her injury' to work out what happened.

HoC and Crack'd Pot Trail.

HoC is still a very good book, but just my least favourite. CPT, however, I thought was far too airy-fairy, didn't really enjoy it at all.

RotCG has less votes than MoI, DG, and MT (DoD is still very divisive, it won't get a mention). What the hell is wrong with you people?

I should switch my votes. All of Erikson's books are better than RotCG, despite that book being a fun and interesting add on to the universe.

Once Stonewielder's out and ICE gets his own part on the next poll I'm sure it'll get its fair share of votes.

I'm hugeyl surprised return of the crimson gaurd hasnt copped a load of votes. Gads I actually didn't like it.
Even with my least favourite Erikson novel I still like it.

Agree with Illy on NoK being a novel as well, and I like dit, it suited Cam's writing style so much more than RotCG did

Sheesh, calm down. I didn't mean insult anyone. I just think it's odd because the way she went mute was probably the (second) most traumatizing moment of her life.

It's like -> Person A dies in Novel 1 and appears again in Novel 2 which takes place one or two years later and nobody (including Person A) even mentions his death anymore or the way he came back to life. This is of course totally exaggerated but you get the idea.

Discourse level of interpretation aside, in terms of writing it's simply a continuity error and because I adore this series so much, they sting that much harder.

Hell, I wouldn't insult Steven or any of his books, he is my idol, he is the one who got me back into writing but that doesn't save his novels from criticism. Posted Image

Oh, of course, I just feel you're quibbling over something completely unimportant.
