I'm sure there was plently of other food available, so it was unfortunate that they drunkenly decided to drown her. They could have just had potatoes (though that makes for a pretty crappy meal). Reglardless, it's still just meat. People die, people kill, people eat. C'mon, we breed animals so we can slaughter and feast on them. A lot of it goes to waste, too. I'm sure the relatives of those dead must be suffering a bit. Well, too bad. What's in the past is done. They confessed, and will receive punishment as the law dictates.

4/10/10: The point I was trying to make with this was that it may not have seemed so wrong to them. Because they did it, it doesn't mean that they're horrible people. They confessed, and are willingly surrendering to the law. This was mainly in response to the posts about shooting them or making them die slowly and painfully. Would doing that after they've given in make you much better? Their sentence is justice. Torture is far beyond, in my opinion.

Well, if it's any consolation - they'll certainly die a horrible, slow death in Russian prisons. Their military / law enforcement is hardcore, but (because?) their criminals are worse.
EDIT: I'd probably cut off their appendages, over the course of weeks, and make them subsist on a diet of themselves.

On a purely cold and rational basis I get what you're saying. However I still find cannibalism revolting - some people might not be disgusted by it, but I am and I find it offends me. Yes I eat meat, no it's not the meat of my own species, that would be wrong on so many levels.

It has to do with the dead, the dying, and the dying to be dead. Namely Per Yngve Ohlin aka. Dead, the first vocalist in Mayhem. When he slit both wrists and gave a 12-gauge a blowjob he wore a t-shirt saying "I *heart* Transylvania." When friend (?) and band member Euronymous found him he allegedly procured several pieces of his scull to use as jewellery.
