Well, greetings again (I'm in the army now so I haven't been here on ages)!

Kallor probably just fooled WJ to believe his heel was caught thus making WJ do that lunge that would brake his leg so that Kallor would have no difficulties finishing him. That's what it is to be a great warrior, you see your opponent's weaknesses and use them against him. But still I don't understand how he was stabbed by that marine-woman. Intentional, too?

By the way, the Forum seems to have changed and not so well. Very well, hauskoja hetkiä kaikille, head ööd.

Phew, don't know about that, Kalahinen. Seems a bit too clever to be true (not that I'm saying that Kallor is not clever). But as many others already mentioned, WJ was a damn good swordsman, him being able to hold Daseem back even just for a short time. Another thing is that Kallor was not only facing three enemies with swords in hand, but if my memory serves right Tayschrenn was also involved in the fight. Didn't someone (Silverfox?) afterwards question Tays efforts (i.e. think he held back to get rid of yet another member of the Old Guard), but then changed his mind when he/she saw that Tays went to his limits to help WJ given the poisoning of the warrens? So if Tays was involved, Kallor was facing some serious trouble, meaning that WJ well ahd a chance of finishing him off with his lunge.

I'm in the middle of a reread of MoI now, looking forward to reread this particular scene to get some better understanding (hopefully)...

It seemed to me that Kallor was quite surprised by WJ's attack. Great swordsman he may have been, but he was blinded by his arrogance.. maybe he didnt think that WJ or marines would attack him or if they did it wouldnt matter.. them being mere soldiers.
And another point I made previously, Kallor is not in same physical shape he was back in the days when he was called the warrior unequalled. Also, you (Kalahinen) havent probably read NoK, but it shows a bit of Dassems's skill with a sword, and WJ was able to stand against Dassem for a while. Makes him nearly as good a swordsman as a commander.

what made you think kallor is invincible, powerful yes but gods and powerfull beings have been killed throughtout the series by weapons

kallor is mortal, he has unlimited lifespan unless he is killed. WJ could have killed him, SE states that powerhouses like QuickBen or gods in the form of mortals can be killed by stray arrows.

karsa killed the dark hounds with his hands
Byrs defeated ruhlad and the demon at the start

The book implies that wj could have killed him, i see no reason for it to be otherwise, as it states the shock on kallors face as WJ parried his blows.

It matters not, for Kallor killed Whiskeyjack in the end despite what WJ supporters are trying to say.
